Shifting from Synchro to XYZ, we look at Infernal Flame Vixen.  We have a Fire attributed, Pyro type, Rank 4 XYZ Monster, with 2200 attack 2000 defense, who can only be XYZ Summoned with two Level 4 Pyro Monsters.  That's a bit of a setback, as not all Fire Decks are going to be carrying a bunch of Pyro Monsters.  Also, being Rank 4 and only having 2200 attack puts Infernal Flame Vixen pretty easily overtaken by other XYZ Monsters of the same Rank, but let's not hold that against this Monster, at least not in the immediate beginning of the review.

Now, once per turn, by discarding an XYZ Material from this card, its attack is increased by 500 points, to 2700, which makes Infernal Flame Vixen much more formidable  However, this attack gain is only until your opponent's End Phase.  When this card is destroyed, with 2500 or more attack, you can target three Monsters in any Graveyard(s) and remove them from play  That's a useful enough effect, but likely dependent on the attack boosting effect of this card itself.  I'm not sure you need to be playing this in a Fire Deck, whether you're capable of Summoning it or not.

There are two great effects that really make Infernal Flame Vixen a good monster. First, it can increase its attack to 2700 which is higher than most of the monsters it will face. Second, it will banish 3 monsters from ether graveyard. That could be good or bad depending on how many monsters are in your opponent’s graveyard. If they have less than 3 monsters then you have to banish the rest from your grave. If there is less than 3 monsters combined in both graves or one is removed before resolution, then no monsters are removed. As most top tier decks use the grave, the banishing effect could come in handy.

The drawback to Infernal Flame Vixen, is that it takes two level 4 Pyro monsters to summon it. I did a look up on this type of monster and came up with 34 monsters. Out of those monsters, only Gem-Knights (Garnet and Sardonyx), Volcanic (Rocket and Slicer), and a combination type deck like Onslaught of the Fire Kings with Molten Zombie, Neo Flamevell Sabre, Royal Firestorm Guards, Spirit of Flames, and Volcanic Rocket can summon this card.

It is almost like the last example is tailor made for Infernal Flame Vixen. In a Fire King deck, you could use their destruction effects to destroy your own Vixen to get its effect to rob your opponent of graveyard resources. With Gem-Knights, you could use Rescue Rabbit to summon two Garnets to make Infernal Flame Vixen.

Infernal Flame Vixen, has some pretty good effects, but the Pyro monster restriction is going to limit it to only a few decks. It is doubtful that you will face this Xyz monster unless future sets give it more support.

Today we will be covering a TCG exclusive xyz monster that we recieved in Cosmo Blazer; that ties in with the theme of the set. Let's take a look at the incredibly hot Infernal Flame Vixen!

Infernal Flame Vixen
FIRE/ Pyro/ Rank 4

2 Pyro-Type Level 4 monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; this card gains 500 ATK until your opponent's End Phase. When this card with 2500 or more ATK is destroyed: Target 3 monsters in any Graveyard(s);banish those targets.

First off.... I have to say this was one of the worst rares to pull at the sneak peek, haha. There was barely any pyros in the set! Makes sense in a pyro-based pack.... sigh....

Anyways, we have a pretty decent xyz. You can detach a material to give it 2700 attack until the end of your opponen't next turn. This makes it the strongest rank 4, 2 material. Then, if they kill it, you can banish 3 monsters in the graveyard.

If this was generic, it actually would be very good. However, with the lack of the good pyros, this isn't that great. The banish effect isn't that great as well as the Vixen as to be at 2500+ to even get the effect, meaning that you have to used the effect.

Plus, what deck doesn't run Compulsory now-a-days in order to get rid of xyz monsters? Counters don't justify a card's effectiveness of course, but I want to make that point that the second eff of Vixen will not go off, unless your opponent doesn't mind it going off.

Advanced: 2.0

Unless we get better Pyros, this card simply won't be that great.

What Pyros monsters would you run here?

I love the TCG exclusive art that we have been receiving!

Next up is Infernal Flame Vixen a Fire/Pyro Xyz monster but it doesn’t have a burn effect. Instead it has an attack gain effect, which will make it 2700 which is strong enough to take out a lot of popular monsters. But that’s not all if this card is destroy while it had 2500 or more ATK, you can banish 3 monsters from any graveyard. It’s a alright effect, maybe not game breaking but could disrupt your opponent a bit. In fact the card does remind me a bit of Infernal Flame Emperor.

Overall the ATk boost is good, but sadly it doesn’t last and its second effect is solid but not really game breaking
