Friday

Mistake doesn't have anything to do with supporting the Vampire theme but it could be used to shut them down, or at least slow them down. This is a Continuous Trap (not a good thing) with the good effect of preventing both players from adding cards from their Deck to the Hand outside of Drawing them. This can really hurt a few other Decks as well, obviously shutting down any card or effect that does add any card to the Hand. It might be a legitimate side-deck choice, but I'm not sure it has room to be played in the Main Deck.

Mistake
Continuous Trap
Neither player can add cards from their Deck to their hand except by drawing them.

We wrap up this week with a Trap card which has nothing to do with Vampires; the continuous trap card, Mistake.

Mistake effect is the exact same as the first effect of Thunder King Rai-Oh. Even though Thunder King is currently limited it is still better than this. You can attack or defend with Thunder King and it has the ability to negate a special summon. This is a Continuous Trap which makes it very vulnerable and it has only one effect which also affects you.

Overall a solid effect but a better card exists and it isn’t really worth clogging up a spell/trap card zone for this.

Happy Friday everyone! We close the week by looking at Mistake, a popular secret rare card from the latest set, and a pretty nice one at that.

Normal Trap

Neither player can add cards from their Deck to their hand except by drawing them.

Pretty straight forward. As with most anti-meta cards of this nature, you of course would run this as a side-deck choice. That being said, it's half a Thunder-King that you can chain to a search card, like Spellbook of Secrets/Spellbook Magician, Sacred Sword, Pot of Duality, or well, just about anything. It has a surprise element that the King does not (outside of using Call of the Haunted on him), which will allow you to bait your opponent into a weak link in their search, for example letting them use a Secrets but stopping the inevitable Master that will follow, chaining to an Atlantean Dragoons play, Fire Formation Tenki, you name it.

Note however, that it does not have the same coverage as another similar card, that being Deck Lockdown. Deck Lockdown stops searching as well as summons from the Deck, ruining some forms of spam decks, Harpies, Spellbook plays with Temperance, etc etc. Mistake will not do that for you, but it also stays longer than two turns.

And then there's your third option, Thunder King. Thunder King stops searching AND can pop himself to stop a key special summon, AND sports a beefy 1900 attack field presence to boot.

Basically it comes own to preference. I prefer the King myself, but Mistake is no pushover of a card. It hinders many meta decks, which of course makes it a welcome addition to many side decks.

Traditional: 4/5, even more cards to stop here
Advanced: 3.5/5, not as good as King, better than Deck Lockdown
Art: 3/5

Thanks for reading and have a great weekend everyone!

Hello Pojo Fans,

This week we finish out with the trap card “Mistake”. A secret rare from the Shadow Specters set, Mistake's effect is: “Neither player can add cards from their Deck to their hand except by drawing them”.

Shutting down all specific searching options to get a card straight from the deck to the hand can give you a tremendous advantage. Stopping the flow of Dragon Ruler and Spellbook decks, being able to disrupt Dark Worlds and Mermails, Mistake can be a potential game changer if used correctly. Even if you only get a one-time use out of the card (most likely the outcome), that one time can change the entire flow of the game.

Mistake isn't for many main decks. Most decks run searching cards to bring resources to your hand. Mistake is a weaker form of Thunder King, unable to give you field presence like the 1900 effect monster does. There may also be little to no space to fit Mistake into a main deck. With tech cards at a premium, and cards revolving around the strategy of the deck, even anti-meta deck space would be hard to come by for this card. Much like Vampire Hunter yesterday, this card screams side deck.

Traditional- 2/5
Advanced- 3/5
Art- 4/5- Tardy Orc is tardy again, but it is Sangan that will end up worse X__X.

Mistake

I saw a guy pull this card out of a pack and people went crazy. It's a good card & it shuts down or annoys most decks being used right now. Dragunities, E-Dragon, & pretty much anything that searches or adds cards to your hand. Basically any OTK that runs search cards, the list goes on, this card stops. It's a trap and any player playing any of these decks has access to Royal Decree, Dust Tornado, & MST not to mention effect monsters. This is a good card and serves a specific purpose, obviously this will be found in side decks but it's not anymore game changing than anything else people side deck against various decks. Basically be prepared to see this, be prepared to MST it.
