Closing the week is Bahamut Shark, a Rank 4, Water XYZ Monster, XYZ Summoned with two Level 4 Water Monsters, and has 2600 attack and 2100 defense.  Once per turn, by discarding an XYZ Material, you can Special Summon a Rank 3 Water XYZ Monster from your Extra Deck.  This card cannot attack if you use this effect, but the new Monster you Special Summon can, so it's not an awful trade off.  Also I'll point out that if/when the Special Summoned XYZ Monster goes to the Graveyard, it can't be Special Summoned as it wasn't properly XYZ Summoned.  Anyway, I looked up Rank 3 Water XYZ Monsters, and here are notable ones you could use via this effect:

Mermail Abysstrite--really you would only see her in a Mermail Deck, and she's only Japanese, but would make a nice 2800 defender
Number 30:  Acid Golem of Destruction--But you'd only take Damage each turn it's on the Field, and it couldn't attack since it had no XYZ Material
Number 17:  Leviathan Dragon--Although it can't increase its attack via its effect, but still has 2000 base attack, but can't attack directly
Submersible Carrier Aero Shark--who is rather unremarkable, and only has 1900 attack

On his own, Bahamut Shark is a reasonable attacker, and easy enough to summon.  I wouldn't fault anyone for playing him in a Water Deck.

Atlantean and Mermail decks got exactly what they needed in the Xyz monster Bahamut Shark. Getting the effect of Bahamut is just the icing on the cake. The real value of the shark is in paying the cost with one of the above Water monsters in order to get their effects. Unfortunately for Mermails, the level 4 monsters are only good for pitching monsters to the grave and for Altanteans we only have Atlantean Dragoons.

To be honest, rank 4 Xyz monsters are not the easiest monsters for Mermail decks to make. They are really good at making rank 3’s, and with the Field Spell card, Lemuria, the Forgotten City, rank 5’s and above. Obviously you can still use two level 4 Mermail monsters but you will not get the sent effects so let’s explore the “sent” effect Water monsters a little more. For Atlanteans we have Dragoons, Heavy Infantry, and Marksman. For Mermails we have only Abysshilde.

With Abysshilde on the field, you can remove Mermail Abyssmander from the grave to increase Abysshilde’s level by 1, and then summon or special summon a level 4 monster. With Heavy Infantry, Marksman, and even Abysshilde you can use the effect of Lemuria, the Forgotten City to adjust their levels to level 4. Probably the easiest way to Xyz summon Bahamut Shark is to summon Deep Sea Diva and special summon Atlantean Heavy Infantry with her effect with Lemuria on the field.

Now that we have Bahamut Shark on the field and have used its effect, we need to summon a good Rank 3 Water Monster. We currently have only 5 monsters to choose from: Mermail Abysstrite, Number 17: Leviathan Dragon, Number 30: Acid Golem of Destruction, Submersible Carrier Aero shark, and Wind-Up Carrier Zenmaity. With no Xyz material attached, only Mermail Abysstrite has the stats and effects to make it worth summoning, unless you play Creature Swap. Then Acid Golem would be a good choice. With Mermail Abysstrite, you have a 2800 defender and when it is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, you can special summon another Mermail from the Graveyard.

If you are running a Water deck then there is no reason not to run Bahamut Shark with its 2600 attack points. With Mermails at the top of the duel world right now, the shark will be feeding on a lot of decks.

Looking at Bahamut Shark, it has quite a few uses and we're gonna find them all, I hope. You need 2 level 4 WATER monsters and once per turn, you can detach a Xyz material from this card to special summon 1 Rank 3 or lower WATER Xyz monster from your extra deck, although that summoned monster cannot attack that turn. A few cards you can get are Acid Golem, Leviathan Dragon, Mermail Abysstrite and Zenmaity. You can't attack with that monster, but you can use its effect, if you have Overlay Regen, or you can use Creature Swap on Acid Golem. Bahamut Shark is strong enough to stand on its own, but its effect to get you another Xyz monster is even better.
