Puppet Master
The Legion

Today's card is Guldfaxe of the `Nordic Beasts. Guldfaxe has two really good things going for him. First he's a four star tuner, and second he's a Nordic Beast, meaning he has some of the best of the Nordic support out there. This card does have a special summoning ability, and it really isn't that hard to pull off, especially if your opponent has you pinned down with a Shi-En or another synchro monster. However, Guldfaxe doesn't really need that ability to make him explosive. When Guldfaxe is combined with Tanngnjostr of the Nordic Beasts It's pretty much a Black Rose Dragon for you when ever you need to get out of a tight situation.

Advanced: 4/5
Traditional: 2/5

Guldfaxe of the Nordic Beasts, a part of the trio of Nordic Beasts that make up most Nordic decks. For a level 4 tuner, his stats are about standard. 1600 ATK is alright, and 1000 DEF is the usual. LIGHT is nice, and Beast is a good thing. If your opponent controls a Synchro Monster he can be Special Summoned from the hand, not unlike a Cyber Dragon.

Being Special Summonable is a nice bonus, but it's really not the reason you play Guldfaxe. You play him for his synergy with Tanngnjostr of the Nordic Beasts, and also because Guldfaxe is able to summon Thor, Lord of the Aesir.

If you're looking for a generic level 4 tuner, Guldfaxe isn't too bad of a choice either. While Mist Valley Shaman has slightly higher ATK, Guldfaxe can add a little speed to your Synchro Summons when drawn. He can also work well in Beast decks looking for a tuner.

Traditional: 1/5
Advanced: 3/5
