Dark Paladin

Monday

We open the week with more Six Samurai support, namely in the form of a Magic card, Shien's Smoke Signal.  This is a very simple card, you can add a Level 3 or lower Six Samurai monster from your Deck to your Hand, which is nothing short of awesome.

As you are all ready aware, the Six Samurai and cunning, and a speedy set that continue to summon one another and swarm the Field.  This card adds more speed to arguably the quickest Deck out there.  There is absolutely no reason not to play it in its Deck.

Shien's Smoke Signal is one of the defining cards of our meta today. Without it, the entire Six Samurai deck would be completely different, possibly not even tier 1 (possibly...).

Searching out any level 3 or less Six Samurai is huge. Want a turn one Shi En? Search out your Kageki or Kagemusha. Want to pull off crazy tricks with Shinai and Mizuho? Search them both out as you wish. Problematic cards of any kind are dealt with by searching out Yaichi, Kamon, or Hand of the Six Samurai. When pairing this card with Reinforcement of the Army, you've got an incredibly consistent toolbox waiting for you.

Not much can counter Smoke Signal, either. Thunder King Rai-Oh can prevent it from being activated. Mind Crush can also work quite well, especially since many Samurai players only use a single copy of a lot of their monsters like Hand or Yaichi, though they can be retrieved with Gateway of the Six.

Traditional: 2/5 Samurai might actually work here, but they still don't FTK.
Advanced: 5/5 A game changing card, expect to see this one all format long.
