Pojo's Yu-Gi-Oh Card of the Day

Loki, Lord of the Aesir
#STOR-EN039

1 "Nordic Alfar" Tuner + 2 or more non-Tuner monsters. Once per turn, when your opponent activates a Spell/Trap Card during your Battle Phase, you can negate its activation and destroy it. During the End Phase, if this face-up card on the field was destroyed by your opponent's card (either by battle or by card effect) and sent to the Graveyard this turn, you can remove from play 1 "Nordic Alfar" Tuner monster from your Graveyard to Special Summon this card from the Graveyard. When this card is Special Summoned by this effect, you can select 1 Trap Card in your Graveyard, and add it to your hand.

Dark Paladin
Friday

Loki, Lord of the Aesir, the third of the Divine Synchro monsters, is a Level 10, Dark attributed Spellcaster, with 3300 attack and 3000 defense.  Loki is Synchro Summoned with one Nordic Alfar Tuner, and two or more non-Tune monsters.

Long story short, Loki is better than Thor, but not as good as Odin.  Once per turn, during your Battle Phase, you can negate the activation of a Magic or Trap card and destroy it.  When destroyed by Battle or your opponent's card effect, like it's family, by removing its speciic Tuner, it can Special Summon itself.

Now, we had one deal 800 damage, one allow you to Draw, Loki however, allows you to recycle a Trap from your Graveyard.  I consider that better than dealing damage, but not as good as a free Draw.  I honestly think Odin is the best, and here you can build a Deck I think, but play it and see.

The
Crowing

Jeez, this one is like the Relinquised of Synchros.

Anyway, we have Loki, which is a Norse god. He's a DARK Spellcaster synchro thats level 10 and requires 1 Nordic Tuner and two or more non tuner monsters. He has 3300 attack and 3000 defense.

He has two effects.

1. Once per turn, when your opponent activates a Spell/Trap Card during your Battle Phase, you can negate its activation and destroy it.

This is a pretty good effect, stops mirror force, dimension prison, book of moon, and pretty much anything else that happens during your battle phase. Shame it doesnt extend to monster effects and your opponents battle phase as well, ah well.

2.During the End Phase, if this face-up card on the field was destroyed by your opponent's card (either by battle or by card effect) and sent to the Graveyard this turn, you can remove from play 1 "Nordic Alfar" Tuner monster from your Graveyard to Special Summon this card from the Graveyard. When this card is Special Summoned by this effect, you can select 1 Trap Card in your Graveyard, and add it to your hand.

The Nordic revive effect Thor had, they probably all have this. Like I said in the last review, at least when you synchro into him you have at least one revive, but the trouble is dodging Solemn Warning and Bottomless, both of which laugh at this effect.

When he's revived this way you grab a trap card from your grave, this is a far cry from Thors crappy 800 burn, but its still not that good. Trap Recovery isnt very useful, I mean snatching back a Warning or Mirror Force, is pretty good, but its not the best thing in the world.

Traditional 1/5
Advanced 3/5 Better then thor, but still not terribly great
Art- Jesters are awesome
