        Like Everyone Else...Banlist Analysis
By: WiCkEd
9.27.05

Hey kids...I'm not entirely sure if I wrote an article last week, nor am I sure what exactly today is. So either way, I'm going to review the banlist like everyone else who writes here but it's not going to be as quick and thrown together as a review as Dark Paladin's. So, well, you all know what was banned, let's look at the perks of what was banned and why it should have been banned previously. Also note, any decks you decide to send to me from this point on must be in October 1st format. Alright, let's roll.

Black Luster Soldier-Envoy of the Beginning-Well, yep. No more Chaos. No more "omgzorx game breaking! I pwn the n00bs with bls-e". That's done. You can resort to Chaos Sorceror, but he's a scrub. Screw Chaos. We all loved this ban unless you're a Chaos-relient assdart.

Delinquent Duo-No more Trinity. No more first turn wins. Nothing of that sort anymore. Pretty cool if you ask me. I never did like losing two out of my five card hand before I could draw. I'm sure no one else did either. Good work UDE.

Pot of Greed-Probably one of the most broken cards in the game. Banned. Enjoyable. Do I mind that its gone? Not really. No more lucky topdecks. Another part of the Trinity destroyed. We're gonna have to use Jar/Pot of Avarice soon, so let's all enjoy the 7 for 1 advantage in that card.

Graceful Charity- Part three of the Trinity is gone. Wiether or not people realize that this was partially broken is beyond me. Now, some see the discard 2 as the downside. Let's think kids, why didn't you discard Chaos food, Night Assailant, Sinister Serpent or Thunder Dragons? Beats me. Not really a disadvantageous card at all.

Mirror Force- Apprently this fluxuates with each list. Oddly enough, I don't mind it being banned. I'll just use two Sakuretsu Armor. Fairly simple to replace. Not a huge deal anyways, it was a slow card.

Ring of Destruction- Another broken card no one realized was broken now banned. It was a 1 for burn damage that would usually end the game and eliminate a monster. It's gone now. I find this no problem at all. Just replace it with something new. Like...maybe...ionno. Think here kids.

Sinister Serpent- Sinister Serpent is banned. He was probably one of the best, if not the best monster in the game. Drop fodder, hand advantage, blah blah I can go on and on. Although, the banning of this was too late in my opinion, but hell, it's all good.

Tribe-Infecting Virus- The ban of this was sneaky no doubt. I don't mind. Without Sinister I wouldn't play it anyways. And running one Night Assailant to cover for Sinister is a bad idea. So I wouldn't even bother with that. It's cool though, someone could use an all Dragon deck and not worry about Tribe blowing apart their field.

Onto Restrictions and such...

Book of Moon- I agree with this. Book of Moon at 1 limits Mill decks power unless you're using The Shallow Grave, which gives advantage to your opponent. I guess that's cool. Notice all of the ban lately have to do with equalization of both players sides. Nothing comes without partial benefit to your opponent.

Book of Taiyou- Another Mill limiter. With this at one The Shallow Grave Cookie Mill goes slower, for the most part. I agree with this at one, I thought it might hit two for some reason though...cool though.

Confiscation- I don't really like Confiscation. But hell, I might as well use it with Duo gone. It's not even a "great" card.

Dark Hole- This is cool. I like that this and Heavy Storm are back. Both mass removal cards with possible drawbacks. I don't see this as too broken like everyone else. But hey, what c an I do?

Exchange of the Spirit- OTK/FTK thing. It's restricted before release. Pretty cool. I think its an interesting card to play nonetheless.

Limiter Removal- I see why this was restricted, but do I think it should have been semi-limited? Yeah. Pretty much. Two would have been fine. I don't really like Machines, but I don't have anything against them. This detracts field advantage after a format that allows equal field advantage. Odd.

Magician of Faith- This was fun too. Limiting how many times a Magic can be used is sexy. She's a one shot swiss army knife. Enjoy her once guys, 'cause now you are only using her once.

Metamorphosis- With TER to one I predict the play of this will drop considerably. Since emphasis on actually fusing is going up, use of this might go down? Beats me. I don't mind. It can be replaced with Summoner of Illusions.

Nobleman of Crossout- Didn't see this coming. But very cool. Remember, be wise when using this. I see this as the primary target for Magician of Faith to get. Very interesting to restrict no doubt. I suppose its equalizing the field advantages more. Agreeable.

Scapegoat- We all saw this coming...

Thousand-Eyes Restrict- Who cares? Use Relinquished! Hahaha.

Tsukuyomi- Guess who isn't fun anymore? TSUKUYOMI. Sure she could be interesting but meh. We'll see come SJC time.

Night Assailant- This prevented discard abuse from what would have happened if just Sinister was banned and this wasn't restricted. GOOD CALL UDE!

Thus concludes this article. I hope you all enjoyed it. Sorry if I came across as a little sarcastic, it's been a long day and I'm in a perky mood. And as a last reminder, all decks sent to me must be October 1st Format, if they aren't they're gone!
