Dark Paladin

Soul Rope, a Trap that we have seen Yugi use on the Anime a couple of times, in his duel against Kaiba in Battle City, and the other time(s) escape me.  Anyway, this a fun Trap to use. definitely.

All you need is for a monster of yours to be destroyed and sent to the Graveyard.  Activate this Trap, drop 1000 Lifepoints, and Special Summon a Level 4 monster from your Deck.  This card would certainly be better if it were a Level 4 or lower monster, but it's still good.

There is a wide plethora of monsters that are Level 4 played in what few different Decks we have in this Format.  Also, realistically speaking, 1000 Lifepoints isn't that bad of a cost at all...it probably doesn't, now will it show up, hardly at all, but it could be fun tech.

General Zorpa Soul Rope

This card will get you a level four monster form your deck when a monster on your field is destroyed at the cost of 1000 lp. I always tried to use this in the DS game, but for some reason or another, it would never work! This means that either the game is glitched, or that the card has very specific activation requirements that the average player has absolutely no knowledge of whatsoever. It can be very useful in Lightsworn and Gladiator Beasts, as they both play a plethora of level four monsters that you wouldn't mind having on the field. That is of course if you can get it to go off.

As I am not really a big rulings person, I am going to have to review this card as if it would activate any time the monster is destroyed. It can be the toolbox that we have been missing since we lost Last Will. It does cost 100 lp, and it does need to be set for a turn, but it can be worth it, getting you the right monster for the right situation every time. It is far more vulnerable to destruction than most other traps commonly played, as it is waiting for specific timing in order to activate.

I do think that it has potential, but i am unwilling to do more than test with it, as it is way too easy to destroy.

Super Rare

Todayʼs card up for review today is Soul Rope. This card has a pretty decent effect, and really obtainable to get.  I could see this card working out, if you have a deck dedicated to it that is. Nothing is jumping out to me as to what you would grab from your deck thatʼs really important, or something worth the one thousand life payment.

If you are going to search for cards at least go with recruiter monsters or use something like Reinforcement Of The Army. Why pay life points when thereʼs other cards to do the trick?

I've had this on my DS game for a while, and it doesn't seem that good or bad.

on one hand, you can combine it with tomato and floaters, keeps feild presence, very nice in a lightsworn deck,

on the other hand, it's takes 1000 points, it has to be exactly 4 stars, there aren't any really really good lv 4s.

I'm kinda half & half. This is one of those cards where you have to use it right.

2.5/5 all. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.
