Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc.’s Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s TRADING CARD GAME Heads to One of South America’s Largest Cities, Santiago, for the Latin American Continental Championship
on June 28

 

Hundreds of Duelists will vie for the Coveted Title of Champion and the Opportunity

To Compete in the World Championship in Tokyo

 

Santiago, Chile – Nestled below the pristine Andes Mountains is the modern metropolis and Chilean capital city of Santiago ─ the ideal location for hundreds of Latin American Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s TRADING CARD GAME (TCG) Duelists to converge and compete in the Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. 2009 Continental Championship.  The Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Latin American Continental Championship will bring together the best Duelists from all over Latin America for the opportunity to battle against the most skilled contestants in the TCG arena.

 

“With more than 20 billion cards sold worldwide, the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME is truly a global phenomenon.  Holding the 2009 Continental Championship in Santiago is a testament to the dedication of millions of Duelists in this corner of the world,” commented Yumi Hoashi, vice president of Card Business for Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. “We are expecting an extremely high level of competition with expert players from all over Latin America battling during the Continental Championship. We will end up with a very worthy representative to compete at the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG World Championship in Tokyo.”

When:  June 28 from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m.

 

Cost:    Entry into the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Continental Championship is FREE for Duelists who have qualified for the event through Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. National Qualifiers, however there will be a cost for side events, participants will receive Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME booster packs equal to the cost of participation.

TCG World Championship held in Tokyo, Japan; Day of sightseeing; “Dark End Dragon” Prize Card; Complete set of Raging Battle and a complete set of Ghost Rare cards from Tactical Evolution through Raging Battle; Digital Camera; 2009 Continental Championship Game Mat; Player Profile on Yu-Gi-Oh! Sensational Side Events:  The Continental Championship also offers exciting Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG side events in addition to the main event.  The side events for Sunday include Win-a-Mat, Win-a-Giant-Card, and a special Dragon Duel event for those 12 and under.
