Thoughts on the next collectors tins

From: Louise <blucry@direcway.com>

The Japanese tins are one a year, the English sets have six a year.
But it seems only one has been really good. Black skull dragon reprint in the first set, a Jinzo reprint in the second, the last year Blade Knight (command knight would have been, but being eratta'ed before it was even out left it as the argue about what it says as opposed to what it's supposed to say with occasional players leaving it not worth the
hassle.) This year what will we get? I've heard a quote that supposedly UpperDeck said at a press conference or something "We have moved heaven and earth to get these cards" Maybe it's the pessimmist in me, but I can't help thinking that could be a good thing, or it could be code for get ready for some real disappointment. I can accept that really there's only one tin like in the Japanese series, and the other five are just gratuitous christmas stuff that shouldn't matter. But could they measure up to that claim? Even if blue eyes ultimate dragon is one of this years tins that doesn't seem likely.
What would the tins have to be in order to get my jaw to drop? Well I can think of three cards (translations are suspect like always)
Gerunia the Invisible 1300 atk effect when this monster summoned
place a token on it, remove the token to destroy a spell or trap card on opponents field
Hannibal Necromancer 1400 atk effect same as Gerunia
Blast Sphere flip effect monster, but nice effect likeable for being fire bit unusual. works in burn, stall, fire themed, and occasionally in any deck that can use some defense/field clearing/stall/burn. But I'm sure we've all heard the rumored cards.....victory dragon, toon dark magician girl, panther warrior, to go with the confirmed gilford the lightning, maybe it's just me but none of those are worth buying. Now seems like a good time to remind ourselves the 5 packs have a retail price of $20 so if any of these cards + the tin are worth five bucks they're technically worth buying, maybe that's the way to look at them.
And while I'm here I feel the need to point out something on the "originality debate" if you use something that works well in your deck but doesn't work in someone else's deck, chances are they'll tell you it sucks, even though it is a major cornerstone of your stategy and isn't going to be just taken out and replaced with a very average card. It seems to me there is a cause to the cookie cutter decks, and it's a lot of people saying everything that they don't use sucks, and then they complain when everyone uses the same cards as they do.....the moral too much advise (especially unwanted advise) can be a bad thing.
