Article 1 of 5: Dekoichi the Abused as All Hell Locomotive
December 20, 2005

Howdy ya'll. Despite what I stated in my last article, I'll be reviewing the top five
cards that have just kinda popped up. I will end the week with a review of my personal
favorite though.

Todays card, is the one and only Dekoichi the Battlechanted Locomotive. A monster with a rather useful effect that seems to be getting abused more and more.

First off, Deko's stats are a respectable 1400/1000. Which means he can suicide a Don, or kill basicly any commonly run flip. He's a 4 star Machine, which is also pretty
nifty. He would be better as a 3 star, but you don't see many 3 star monsters with 1400 ATK and a decent effect. He's also a Dark monster, making him a part of the most abusable attribute in the game. He's Chaos food with respectable stats, and a kickass effect.

For all those who lack the knowledge of his effect, you're stupid. Why are you even
reading this? I'll provide his effect for you, but only because I'm so very very kind.

RDS-EN032
Dekoichi the Battlechanted Locomotive
DARK
Machine/4/1400/1000
FLIP: Draw 1 card. If you have face-up "Bokoichi, the Freightening Car"
card(s) on your side of the field, draw an additional card for each of them.
Rare/Ultimate Rare

As you can tell, the former of the two effects is the one used. I suppose you could
build a deck with Bokoichi the Frightening Car, however outside an Exodia Stall, it
wouldn't be the most effective.

It's an easily abused effect that's seeing more and more play. It had a place at the SJC's, and that should give more then enough proof of its current, and future abuse. Who doesn't want a well stated draw engine that makes love to Tsukuyomi and Book of Moon. Combine Tsuku, Ultimate Offering, Mysterious Puppeteer, and Deko for an instant Exodia win. Granted it's not exactly the easiest of victories
claimed, but you should be running Tsuku and Deko in an Exodia deck anyway. Just throw in Mysterious, and Ultimate.

But aside from crappy combos, this card is definately one you should take a look at.
What deck doesn't need more speed? It's good in Traditional, and even better in
Advanced. It's abusability wasn't even recognized until recently. It's from RDS, and
it's a rare. Only now is it being run in 3's, with Cyber Dragon and DDA, Two cards which recieved almost instant recognition and abuse. In the end, everyone loves Deko. Dark, Machine, 1400 ATK with an absolutely fun effect. I'll take one of those anyday.

Final Thoughts: Anything that can, will search it. It's Chaos Food, Draw Power,
moderate Field Control, and a pretty cool looking card. Run it if ya got it.

Traditional: 7.5/10 (Just because of Raigeki and Painful Choice)
Advanced: 9/10 (With much less Flip removal)
Art: 8.5/10 (He looks pretty pimp)

And now, a review for my illustrious Guest: Mack

Well, it seems we've reached Dekiochi. Man, I love this thing. Tomatoable, Sanganable, draw power, decent stats, what's NOT to like? It's seen some rise in play recently in decks using Pot of Avarice, which gives speed and makes this gem re useable.

While it has lots of upsides, it's got a few weaknesses, like all cards. NoC stops it
cold, but really, who uses Crossout now? I know what you're thinking, "What about Cyber Dragon, then Don and Crossout though?" Well, you're right, that hurts it, with it being a flip, but this card gives back advantage when it leaves and it's defense is certainly nothing to scoff at.

Overall though, this card has a lot of reasons you should play it. Being a DARK and
1400/1000 gives it two awesome searchers, Tomato AND Sangan both grab it. As if that wasn't enough, it is food for your Chaos Sorceror, re usable with Book of Moon, Tsuku bait for lots of free cards and overall abusable. If you aren't playing this, I
seriously recommend splashing at least one copy, and you'll see just how awesome this thing is, it changed my opinion on it.

Traditional: 7/10. Lots of removal in Raigeki and such.
Advanced: 9/10 Nothing's perfect, but this comes close. And less removal helps.
Art: 9/10 An Ultimate of this is pimpin.

Well there ya go ladies and gents, Dekoichi in a nutshell. I'll see ya tomorrow with
another guest, for a review of another abusable monsters. Until then, stay addicted, and always wash behind your ears. Peace, I'm out.
