Trading Card Game Tips from fans

September 2007

Hi, my name is Yoshi, and I would like to contribute my thoughts on some cool cards and combos.

As we all know, Ring of Destruction was banned, and that was tough for a lot of decks, so I've been looking for other cards to take its place, and I found one, Cthonian Blast. Though the cost isn't great, you can still take down one of their monsters and cause some damage.
Now, a combo I thought involved Enemy Controller and Scapegoat. You can play Scapegoat, so you get 4 Goat Tokens on the field, then you can play Enemy Controller, and sacrifice one of the tokens. Now you can take their monster and you didn't have to tribute your own monster (a good monster). You can either tribute the stolen monster, or use it for attacking.

One card that I thought would have a good comeback this list is Magic Drain. Magic Drain can negate one of your opponents spells, or, it can cause them to lose card advantage. You can negate some useful spells, such as Fissure, Smashing Ground, Pot of Avarice, Brain Control or Nobleman of Crossout, which can help a lot. Yeah, they can stop the negation, but paying another spell card can be game breaking.

One deck that I feel that can do good this list is Horus Lockdown. With Jinzo at 2, it really helps the deck out. I have been facing one lately (at local tournaments) and I've been having a tough time with beating it, and I run Monarchs! The trap negation is easy, with cards such as Jinzo, Royal Decree, Trap Jammer, Pitch Black Warwolf and Mirage Dragon. The spell negation is only with Horus, but Horus isn't that difficult to get out. Without spells and traps, most decks have a tough time getting out of a corner.

I hope you find my thoughts pretty useful, and hopefully I can become a member of pojo, and write articles to help people out. Thank you for your time.
