Subject: The Most Underplayed Fusion Monster in the Game - Neo King of Games

I'm back, this time not with a new deck but with a little bit of...let's call it advice. As you can tell from the title, I'm gonna be talking about what I believe to be the most underplayed Fusion Monster in the game.

This fusion is probably the only one in the game that's what I believe a fusion should be: a perfect combination of the fusion material monsters, basically having everything from all the fusion material wrapped up into one monster.

The two monsters needed to summon this are both from the same set. Neither are particularly powerful, but, if used right, they can be useful. One is a monster with the Direct Attack ability (where it can attack even if the opponent has a monster out).

The other is the only real all-purpose monster. which can always help, whether your attacking or defending. That's right, I'm talking about the one and only, perfect fusion of two monsters...

Reaper on the Nightmare

DARK/Zombie - Fusion - Effect    Lv. 5

ATK/800                                    DEF/600

"Spirit Reaper" + "Nightmare Horse"

This monster is not destroyed as a result of battle at any time although damage calculation is applied normally. When this card is specifically designated as a target of the effect of a Magic, Trap, or Effect Monster Card, this card is immediately destroyed. This monster can attack your opponent’s Life Points directly even if there is a monster on your opponent’s side of the field. When this card attacks your opponent’s Life Points directly, 1 card is randomly selected from your opponent’s hand and discarded to the Graveyard.

I don't know why this card didn't catch on. I mean...it's a really awesome card! And most people are playing Spirit Reaper anyway. Plus...you can summon it with fusion subs or whatever else you might wanna use.

And it is a perfect combination between the two fusion monsters. Both the fusion material monsters are DARK/Zombie monsters. Spirit Reaper is Lv. 3, and Nightmare Horse is Lv. 2, which totals the Lv. 5 of RotN. SR's ATK is 300, and NH's is 500, totaling RotN's 800. SR's DEF is 200 and NH's is 400, which totals RotN's 600.

And the effects are a perfect combination of the two. RotN has SR's "not destroyed as a result of battle", "destroyed when targeted", and "opponent discards when damage is done" abilities as well as NH's Direct Attack ability. Heck, even the rarity of the card is a perfect combination! See, I have this system where the rarity of a card is determined by a number. Commons are 1, Rares are 2, Supers are 3, Ultras are 4, and Secrets/Ultimates are 5. (Variant cards and tin/game cards are 1's since they're easy to get.) RotN is a 3, being Super Rare. SR is a Rare (2), and NH is a Common (1).

The important thing about this card are it's abilities. As long as your opponent doesn't have anything to stop your attacks, you basically get to discard one card from their hand every turn. Combo this with something like Spirit Barrier, and you'll have yourself an unstoppable creature that discards opponent's cards constantly!

And it is underplayed. I have yet to see anyone use it in a duel. I think it's definitely a tournament worthy card, even though it's a fusion. But when you think about it...it is worth it, since it is the only "perfect" fusion of two monsters. Plus, it makes up for itself mostly because of that fact. One attack can make it worth giving up three cards (the fusion material and Polymerization). Since it's a perfect fusion, you're not really giving up anything except Poly, which can be made up with one attack. Then again...that's not the logic I like to use. Hm...maybe my next article will be a rant...anyway, RotN is a good card and I wish more people would play it. It would definitely deserve the play it got.

Hm...if someone were to ask me for a theme deck based on RotN, I would probably want to build it (hint, hint).

Anyway, any questions, comments, deck themes, you know the drill, my e-mail is GUYOBRAINS@aol.com.
