the advent of Speed-Chaos-- Chaosmech

The advent of Speed-chaos

Well, after a long absence, Chaosmech (that’s me) is back again with an article on none other than (drumroll, please)… Chaos! (insert collective gasp here). Anyway, I am going to make a wild prediction about the future. Here goes.

Ok, any of you who have played the World Championship games know that there is a card called Skelengel. It goes something like this.
**/900 ATK/400 DEF/Fairy/LIGHT
Flip: Draw 1 card from your deck

Well, at first glance, it appears to not be very spectacular. I mean, we have Dark Mimic, which does that and more, as well as Dekoichi, which has better stats. But, a second glance reveals that these are both (insert another gasp) DARK monsters! Whereas Skelengel is LIGHT!

The smarter ones of you will be figuring out what I’m talking about. And that is, simply, that this card will be grossly abused as soon as it’s released in English. With Dekoichi, Airknight, Dark Mimic, Pot, Graceful, Skelengel, and lots of Book of Moons, the Chaos deck will gain a huge amount of speed that it did not formerly possess. I’ll show you what I mean.

The Speed-chaos deck

Monsters: 22
Tribute/SS requirements: 4
Black Luster Soldier—Envoy of the Beginning x1 Chaos Sorcerer x1 Airknight Parshath x1 Jinzo x1
Non-tribute: 18
Skelengel x3
Magician of Faith x3
Dekoichi the Battlechanted Locomotive x3 Dark Mimic LV 1 x3 Royal Magical Library x3 Night Assailant x2 Sangan x1
Spells: 11
Pot of Greed x1
Book of Moon x3
Book of Taiyou x3
Graceful Charity x1
Premature Burial x1
Heavy Storm x1
Mystical Space Typhoon x1
Traps: 7
Call of the Haunted x1
Torrential Tribute x1
Mirror Force x1
Reckless Greed x1
Jar of Greed x3

Now, this may look a lot like an Exodia deck, but without the pieces. And, in essence, it is. It has much the same goal, that is, draw as many cards as you possibly can, get out the centerpieces, and annihilate your opponent.

Now, a similar deck could be constructed with cards we already have, but it might not be as effective. It is the same, except
-3 Skelengel
+2 Upstart Goblin
+1 D. D. Warrior Lady

Once Skelengel is released, Chaos will tend away from warriors and more towards this kind of speed.

This is my prediction.

If you have any questions, comments, concerns, deck fixes, or whatever, email me at chaosmech@juno.com. Happy dueling, and fear the Chaos!
