World Legacy’s Secret
– #EXFO-EN072

World Legacy’s Secret is a Continuous Trap that Special Summons a targeted Level 5 or higher monster from the grave. If Secret leaves the field, you have to destroy the monster, but that doesn’t usually matter because you are using said monster for some other summon. While World Legacy’s Secret is Face-Up you get to negate any opponent’s monster effect that activates in the same column as a Mekk-Knight you control. Of the Mekk-Knight World Legacy this one is the hardest to rate. Special Summoning a Level 5 or higher monster makes this card splashable in other decks. However, completely missing the opportunity to negate hand and graveyard effects is disappointing to Mekk-Knights. It also does nothing to continuous monster effects. It’s also not quite searchable in Mekk-Knights. World Legacy’s Secret is a good trap but it might not be necessary at 3.

We end this week off with one of the Continuous Traps of the World Legacy that Mekk-Knights utilize, Secret.

When this card is activated, you can select a Level 5 or higher monster in your GY and Special Summon, but destroy it when this leaves the field. Call of the Haunted is still good in 2018, so to have a searchable Call of the Haunted in Mekk-Knights is nice, though they don’t really run a searcher for it. Still, it is a Call of the Haunted that has a bonus effect. Any monster effect activated in the same column as a Mekk-Knight monster is negated. This is where Indigo Eclipse can come in handy. When your opponent uses the effect of a monster you control in a column that doesn’t have a Mekk-Knight, you can simply use Indigo Eclipse to move a Mekk-Knight and negate that effect. They also have a World Legacy to negate Spells and Traps, so if you can get them all out and have a Field full of Mekk-Knights with some Indigo Eclispes, you should win the duel since your opponent cannot really do anything. Besides that, this might be the best one for revival and negating some of the better cards in monsters. If you are playing these World Legacy cards and not the Invoked variant, this one might be the one you play the most of.

This Trap is good, I mean REALLY good.  WL Secret beautifully fits the Mekk-Knight theme.  You get to Special Summon a Level 5 or higher Monster from your Graveyard, and said Monster is destroyed when this card leaves the Field.  (Also, let’s take a quick moment to note this card says the Monster you choose is Targeted) Furthermore, any opponent’s Monster effected is negated, so long as it’s in a column you control a Mekk-Knight Monster.  Well, that fits the theme all too well, doesn’t it?  This is a Continuous Trap, with all the weakness involved therein, but that shouldn’t at all deter you from running it.  Protect it, and they have protection too, you can do some real trouble with this.
