Hello Pojo Fans,

Ultimate Dragonic Utopia Ray ends our Utopia week.

Another monster you are using Zexal Force to summon or another of your Rank-Up Spell Cards. Treated as “Number C39: Utopia Ray”, it inherits any support that the original has, as well as any other “Utopia” support. Pull and attach a ZW from your deck eliminates the need to summon a few of the ZW monsters in order to equip them. Detach a material to target and negate cards for the turn equal to your ZW monsters attached to UDUR can be a good board negation, but it all hinges on how many ZW monsters you have attached. The first effect works only when attacked or targeted by a card, a downside. You can attach so many ZW monsters from your hand to this card you could easily be able to negate all face-up cards on the board, and that effect not being one that is in response to your opponent is key. Not only that, many of the ZW monsters give at least 1000ATK boost a piece, bringing Dragonic Utopia Ray up the level of an OTK in the right circumstances.

How many ZW monsters are you running in a Utopia build? How many Rank-Up Spell Cards are you running? IS Ultimate Dragonic Utopia Ray even a target in your Extra Deck? These are the choices that will determine how good UDUR is, if you play him in the archetype.

The week ends off with the newest Utopia you can Rank-Up into: Ultimate Dragonic Utopia Ray.

UDUR is a Rank 5 LIGHT Warrior Xyz with 2500 ATK and 2000 DEF. So same nice qualities as yesterday, except somewhat lower stats that hurts a little. Anyways, 3 Level 5 monsters is the normal way to summon this outside Rank-Up-Magics, and you don’t need a Utopia attached to this, but 3 Level 5s isn’t worth it and you’d only use this in Utopia anyways, where you mainly Rank 4 and use RUMs to go beyond that. This is always treated as Number C39: Utopia Ray, mainly to make the original ZW monsters be able to equip to this, but this also means you can’t use 3 of this and 3 of the original Utopia Ray, though that isn’t recommended and you’ll likely just run 1 of each alongside Leo Utopia Ray when that releases. Once per turn, when a card or effect targets this card, or this card is targeted for an attack, you can equip a ZW from your hand or Deck to this card as if it was equipped via its own effect. Nice alternate way to get ZWs onto your Utopias, especially without drawing them, and it does trigger when you use a ZW’s natural way to equip to a Utopia. The other effect is also a once per turn to detach a material from this card to target face-up cards the opponent controls up to the number of ZW monsters equipped to this card and negate their effects. Multi negation on one card can be nice, of course if you got the ZWs on it, and permanent negation is pretty good, just too bad this isn’t a Quick Effect like the other effect, cause this could be useful on the opponent’s turn. This isn’t a card to really help you going first too much besides being a good way to get 2 ZWs at once, especially Pegasus Twin Saber. It’s a fine card, just too bad it’s going to release around the same time as Leo Utopia Ray, cause that one is much better. This is still worth running and having in the Extra Deck for Utopia still, the qualities it offers are still useful.

Advanced Rating: 3.5/5

Art: 4/5 Nicer and more smooth armor compared to yesterday, better colors as well.

In a line of seemingly never ending cards, here’s Ultimate Dragonic Utopia Ray.  Light/Warrior, Rank 5, 2500/2000, we’ve seen it all by now, and not just this week.  3 Level 5 Monsters required for XYZ Summon and this card is always treated as the brethren Number C39:  Utopia Ray.  There’s a lot of text on this card for how little it does.  A Quick Effect, when this card is Targeted (by Effect, Card, or Attack) you can Equip a ZW card from your Hand or Deck to this (as though you did through that Monster’s Effect).  Free XYZ Material is always a good thing, and the more we have, the more Effect(s) we can use.  Or the more often we can use them!  The latter Effect here is good, but only as good as you can keep this card on the Field.  You can discard a Material to Negate the Effect(s) of your opponent’s face-up card(s) equal to the number of ZW Monster Material on this card.  Faster is better with this card.  This is probably the best card we looked at this week, situational as it may be, but it isn’t bad.

Rating:  3.25/5

Art:  4/5  The armor here is better than yesterday but he’s looking WAY too mechanical to be a Warrior.  The glowing eyes even almost have a Jinzo feel about them.
