Toon Kingdom
– #LED2-EN052

When this card is activated: Banish 3 cards from the top of your Deck, face-down. This card’s name becomes “Toon World” while in the Field Zone. Your opponent cannot target Toon monsters you control with card effects. If a Toon monster(s) you control would be destroyed by battle or card effect, you can banish 1 card from the top of your Deck, face-down, for each of those monster(s) instead.

Today, we look at a card that got a much needed reprint, Toon Kingdom.

Toon Kingdom is a Field Spell, so Terraforming can search this, and it is also a Toon so you can have Toon Table of Contents for this as well. When you activate this card, you must banish the top 3 cards from the deck face-down. Not too hefty of a cost, Toons are more than willing to pay that cost since this helps the deck so much. While in the Field Zone, Toon Kingdom is treated as Toon World so all of the Toons get their abilities they would normally get with the original Toon World. Your opponent cannot target your Toon monsters, very good protection. If a Toon monster or monsters you control would be destroyed, you can banish a card from the top of your deck face-down for each Toon that would be destroyed. Very powerful way to protect your Toons while they poke at your opponent’s life points directly. Toon Kingdom is a necessary card for any Toon deck. One of the best archetypal Field Spells in the game.

Advanced Rating: 4.5/5

Art: 3.75/5 I think the original Toon World is better in the art department, gives more of a creepy vibe that the Toons gave in the anime.

Toon Kingdom is a tremendous asset to Toon Decks.  When activated, you immediately remove three cards from the top of your Deck (face-down) from play.  This card then becomes Toon World, so that’s another benefit, and no cost, as with Toon World itself.  This card would be searchable also via Toon Table of Contents, and you’re going to want this on the Field as soon as you can get it.  Your Toons are protected from card effects, and from attacks (the latter by removing another card from your Deck from play, again, face-down) and it’s not limited to one a turn or anything either.  Not that you want to burn through all your Deck, but that’s great protection.  Toons like to direct attck, so this can definitely help you speed things along.  Wonderful, pure card, for an archtype.
