I shouldn’t be surprised that Tinybones’ hat stays on even when his head comes off, seeing as the set has an actual Looney Tunes reference as well. Some people have gone as far as comparing his new card to Ragavan, though that’s probably more in concept than in power level. Even so, there is undeniably potential with his damage trigger, and it scales noticeably well to the late game when everyone has more mana available. You can also pair it with Duress effects or aggressive milling to try and cast exactly what you want, which I’m sure is going to be the first theme deck for him. It remains to be seen whether he has much going beyond that first theme deck, but there might be reason to be optimistic.

The littlest plunderer has found a new way to ply his trade. Tinybones’ second outing has a very interesting push and pull to it. A successful strike will let you steal something from the victim’s graveyard…with some interesting twists, like it not exiling the spell but also asking you pay for it. A 1/1 with deathtouch is an interesting threat; it’s not going to create pressure on its own, but you might not want to block it, and deathtouch oft will take someone with it. For one mana, it’s a pretty solid deal. He might be small, but he can be formidable if given support and space…and deathtouch is great for punching above Tinybones’ initial weight.
