Since we couldn’t get this up yesterday, we got a double review on Sunday as we look at 2 of the new Sky Striker cards, starting with Surugical Striker – H.A.M.P.

H.A.M.P. is a Level 8 DARK Machine with 2500 ATK and DEF. Pretty strong stats and it’s good to be a DARK Machine. It’s always treated as a Sky Striker card, ensuring you can search this off of Engage. If you control a Sky Striker Ace, you can Special Summon this card from the hand to either player’s field by tributing a monster the player controls whose field you want to summon this on, giving Sky Striker a way to help out some monsters with pretty strong protection or negation at the very least, so it’s a searchable Kaiju basically, though you can only summon it once a turn this way. Second effect triggers upon this being destroyed in battle, letting you target a card the opponent controls and destroy it, which can be hard to do for Sky Strikers without relying on the boosts or debuffs from Kagari or Shizuku, but the Deck at least had other ways to out this like Afterburners or Jamming Waves popping it, or stealing it back with Widow Anchor and making Zeke. Compared to some of the other new Sky Striker monsters we’re getting, this is the best one seen so far and probably the only one that doesn’t matter that it isn’t treated as a Sky Striker Ace since it’s going to the opponent more times than not anyways. A solid card for Sky Strikers to out monsters they previously couldn’t, so it won’t hurt to have a copy ready to search.

Advanced Rating: 3.5/5

Art: 4/5 Don’t know what it is or what it has to do with Sky Strikers, except that it kinda looks like an upgraded Zeke.
