Hello Pojo Fans,
Springans Captain Sargas is one of those high level Springans I hinted at yesterday.
Like all Springans it can attach to one of the archetypes Xyz monsters from the hand, field, or grave, a mechanic I’m glad the archetype has. Note as well you could attach a LOT of materials mid-to-late game if you Xyz Summon a Springans monster. Giving the Xyz it’s attached to 500ATK isn’t much of a thing when the Field Spell will give all Springans 1000ATK. The Quick Effect as a monster to detach off an Xyz you have to destroy a card on the field is pretty useful, if you get Captain Sargas to the field. Despite its strong DEF of 2800, you don’t want a Level 8 to be a target by something like UFO Turtle. This card is best Special Summoned in the End Phase off Sprind the Irondash Dragon, making sure you have a Springans Xyz monster with a material or two attached to fuel Captain’s effect next turn. Getting Irondash Dragon to the grave is as simple as using the Rank 4 Springans Xyz monster, or mixing in things from different archetypes into the deck like Dogmatika support.
Captain Sargas is the interruption you want on your field each turn. It may not negate, but it gets the job done.

From Level 4 to Level 8, since the TCG only has the Rank 8 Springans so far, we look at Springans Captain Sargas.
Sargas is a Level 8 FIRE Machine with 1500 ATK and 2800 DEF. It’s mainly a good stat for DEF, you just don’t want it in ATK, and we got that interesting FIRE Machine combo again. It has the same attach effect from hand, field, or grave to a Springans Xyz, so loading up ammo on your Xyzs is good. Sargas has a Quick Effect on the opponent’s turn to detach a material from any Xyz Monster you control to target and destroy a face-up card on the field. Any disruption can be pretty decent, and considering the pop effect on the Rank 8 isn’t a Quick Effect, you at least got this to make up for it. It also gives a Springans Xyz it’s attached to a 500 ATK boost, which helps considering the Xyz stats are lacking without the Field Spell. Either way, Captain Sargas is one of the few Main Deck Springans you want to leave on field so you have access to do something on the opponent’s turn. It’s likely going to be bricky if you don’t have Trade-In in hand or Gold Golgonda to discard it, but you should be able to easily get this on board, especially when we get Springans Brothers.

Art: 4/5 A card that destroys other cards looks like something that can easily do such, I can appreciate it.

Double your fun today with double Level from 4 to 8 in Captain Sargas. This is again an oddly duo showing of Fire/Machine, and one with a beefy 2800 defense but a lacking 1500 attack. So similarly to yesterday, you can attach this to a Theme XYZ while it’s in your Hand or Grave or in your Field. Which I still think is a cool effect. You’re NEVER going to Tribute for this so you certainly want to Special Summon it; ideally in Defense position. But if it’s XYZ Material, most of that becomes moot. Being able to detach an XYZ Material of a Monster (not even having to be one it’s attached to) leading to you destroying a card as a Quick effect is amazing as well, and makes the Material cycling and adding all the more important in this Theme. A Theme XYZ Monster this is attached to gains 500 attack. Nice enough, I’d still small, but it can still be enough to get you over an edge to take something down without the bonus in attack being too overpowered. Not quite as good as yesterday, in my opinion, but still useful enough.

Art: 4/5 Much more serious and imposing than yesterday. He looks very angry and serious. Odd considering his low attack
