Neo Flamvell Lady
– #DANE-EN014

(Quick Effect): You can send 1 FIRE monster from your hand to the GY, then target 1 card in your opponent’s GY; banish that card. If a card is banished from your opponent’s GY, while you control this monster (except during the Damage Step): You can send 1 FIRE monster with 200 or less DEF from your Deck to the GY, except “Neo Flamvell Lady”. You can only use each effect of “Neo Flamvell Lady” once per turn.

We end the Dark Neostorm reviews for now with some of the random archetypal support cards that came in the set, starting with a piece of Flamvell support, Neo Flamvell Lady.

Neo Flamvell Lady is a Level 4 FIRE Pyro with 1600 ATK and 200 DEF. FIRE and Pyro go well together of course, the ATK is fine and 200 DEF matches the gimmick the Flamvell archetype forced upon to a lot of FIRE monsters. Lady has a Quick Effect where you can send a FIRE monster from your hand to the graveyard to target a card in the opponent’s graveyard and banish it. This can be a decent disruption piece in FIRE decks and it matches the Neo Flamvell strategy of graveyard manipulation for their effects, but you’ll likely play this outside Flamvell due to how lackluster that archetype is. Maybe Laval or Infernoid. They can benefit from that as if a card is banished from your opponent’s graveyard while you control this card, you can send any FIRE monster from your deck to the graveyard just as long as it has 200 or less DEF. Most of the Infernoids you’d want to send have no DEF, so there’s graveyard setup there. Laval’s have a ton of good cards with 200 DEF like Lakeside Lady and Handmaiden. This can help set up a Rekindling play later down the line with the discard and deck send and it’ll help more FIRE support cards in the future. Volcanics can benefit as well with Volcanic Shell, Fire Fist is getting new support soon and we don’t know how well that could synergize with this, though being Pyro and not Beast-Warrior hurts. Each effect is a hard once per turn to prevent too much graveyard setup with Rekindling probably. Neo Flamvell Lady is the best Flamvell monster without a doubt, worth experimenting with in certain FIRE decks.

Hello Pojo Fans,

Neo Flamvell Lady would be so much better if Rekindling was not at 1.

D.D. Crow effect while sending a FIRE monster to the grave is alright. If you banish a card somehow while Lady is on the field you get a Foolish Burial for any FIRE with 200 or less DEF. While the first effect is good, the setup this card can do isn’t that great. Neo Flamvell monsters want to be on the field so they can banish your opponent’s monsters from the grave. Not many good Laval monsters and again, Rekindling is at 1. Firedog could summon her and then you could use her effect before going for a Synchro, Rank 4, or Link Summon, many options off Firedog, but it isn’t as good as it used to be.

It is useful that her first effect can trigger her second one, but she just was released too late for her to make any real impact.

It’s a random week, and we’re looking at a new card from Ancient Prophecy…I mean a new card for the Flamvell Theme, in Neo Flamvell Lady.  Fire, Level 4, 1600 attack (could do better on Level 4) and 200 defense, which is bad, but fits with the theme.  Pyro isn’t a great thing either.  I’m going to say first off, I don’t like Fire cards generally that don’t do Burn of some sort.  We associate Fire with Burn but anyway.

Quick effect to start, lets you send a Fire Monster from your Hand to your Graveyard to Target and remove a card (any card) from your opponent’s Graveyard from play.  That’s a nice, fair and balanced effect.  Note the Monster you dump doesn’t have to be of the theme, and that’s a nice assist as well for whatever you’re planning to do later, be it in the turn, or further down the road.  Removal yourself, or burn, whatever you need.

If a card is removed from your opponent’s Graveyard while you control this Lady (save the Damage Step) you can dump a Fire Monster with 200 defense (or less, other than herself) from your Deck to your Graveyard.  THAT is the money effect here, with how deliciously well in fits in the theme.  Strangely quiet, but she fits in and out of the theme, Volcanic comes to mind to me as well.

Art:  4/5  Fire dancer?  I’d actually like a little more detail on the lady, but overall, this is very nice.
