King of Lullaby Hello Pojo Fans, Mardel, Generaider Boss of Light is the first of the Generaider monsters we’re looking at this week. Fourth strongest Generaider monster in the archetype, and is one of the easiest to summon with Lonefire Blossom. Once Loptr, Shadow of the Generaider Boss comes out the deck will have a little more ease in summoning these high level monsters. Mardel is the searcher of the deck, netting you an archetype-specific card, doesn’t have a cost to pay for the effect, making her one of the better “Boss” Generaider monsters. World Legacy Monstrosity is the money card for the archetype to summon this monster, immediately replacing itself with its search ability and helps to get the deck going. Something like Monster Gate or Monarchs Stormforth can also help. Using cards that Special Summon from the grave can also benefit this archetype as you can mow through the deck with draw cards and skip on the tribute costs. It’s too bad her search is only once per turn, of all the Generaider monsters I think her effect shouldn’t have been once per turn…the deck needs something to really help it along, why not a searcher? Crunch$G Last up for Mystic Fighters is the Generaider archetype, starting with Mardel, Generaider Boss of Light. Mardel is a Level 9 LIGHT Plant with 2400 ATK and DEF. Meh stats on a Level 9, but being LIGHT is solid and being Plant does allow for Lonefire Blossom and other Plant goods. You can only control 1 Mardel at a time, which all the Generaider Bosses do. If this card is Normal or Special Summoned, remember Lonefire can summon this, you can search for any Plant monster or any Generaider card from your Deck, excluding Mardel. First off, the Plant search is very nice and basically turns Lonefire into a RotA for the entire typing basically, even though you got to summon Lonefire to get to this and probably use your Normal Summon to do such. Still, easy type searchers like this that can be summoned without hassle are worth considering for Decks of those types. Now, the fact it also searches the whole Generaider archetype makes this card good in a Generaider related Deck as it helps get you to your important cards to help get your Generaiders on the field, since most of them are Level 9. Sure it’s a hard once per turn, but a search that broad should be. Mardel gives a nice boost to Plants while at the same time giving Generaiders some consistency, it’s a fairly good card overall. Alex Searcy Mardel, Generaider Boss of Light kicks off a really cool week featuring a new Archetype loosely based of Nordic lore. (More on that in the art section). Mardel is a Level 9, Light attributed, Plant Monster, with 2400 attack and defense. Not the best on either side given the Level, but Light gives synergy with Honest, and Plants have incredible support. One way easily to work around Tributing for Mardel would be a Special Summon via Loneflower Blossom (which still requires ONE tribute) but can fetch from the Deck. Despite not being overly strong, her effects are good. A Normal or Special Summon of this card nets you any theme or Plant Monster from your Deck other than herself. Instant access to either/or here is a great thing, and there’s no cost. You can only control one of these at a time, and each effect is once per turn. As if we’re surprised. She’s a great resource puller for a Plant player, and not as difficult to Summon as the Level 9 suggests. The fact the first effect can come from Special Summon as well makes her a great deal better, in my opinion. Try one out in your Plant Deck and see. Rating: 3.75/5 Art: 5/5 Very stunningly beautiful. Love all the light texture tones here in the colors, love her wings, just awesome. Additional: All the Generaider Monsters are Level 9 supposed to symbolize the 9 realms/worlds. Mardel is from Vanaheim. The Gods from Vanir of Vanaheim were generally associated with fertility, wisdom, and an ability to see the Future. Mardel is to reference Freyja, who was associated with war, death, love, sex, beauty, fertility, gold, and seior (sorcery). |
