This is actually Jolrael’s second card from the sweep of Magic’s history, and it’s about as different from her first one as it’s possible to be. It might, though, be more generally useful – there are ways in all five colors to get her triggered ability incidentally, much less when you build around it, and a repeatable Overrun is no joke. The latter also helps out a lot in multiplayer settings, and on top of all that, there are enough Jolrael- and Mwonvuli-themed cards to make an actual factual theme deck.

If you have the means to draw an additional card each turn, Jolrael can help raise an army of cats…and, later, punish an opponent properly with them. While green doesn’t have the best card draw of all the colors, it does get a healthy amount, and Jolrael becomes a two-mana investment that can pay off down the line. Her activated ability is unlikely to matter a ton, but it’s a powerful fallback option if you have an army and the game goes late. She does ask for a bit more investment, but she can pay off nicely enough, even if her body is easy enough to remove.

Constructed: 2.75 (may have prospects in Modern if you build carefully, but I don’t think she’s ever quite panned out)
Casual: 4.25
Limited: 3.5 (if you draft carefully, this gets nasty, but you need to draft around her)
Multiplayer: 3.25 (she does say “each turn”)
Commander [EDH]: 4 (considering the obscene card draw options, like Sylvan Library, Jolrael has plenty of room to work her magic here)
