We end the week with Jinzo with laser eyes, or Jinzo the Machine Menace.

Jinzo the Machine Menace is a Level 7 with the same stats as Jinzo, which the Type and Attribute are still good but the 2400/1500 isn’t as impressive on a Monster that in theory needs 2 tributes instead of 1. If there is a Trap face-up on the field or in the graveyard, you can Special Summon this from the hand and it becomes a Level 6 for a turn. Free Special Summon that doesn’t 100% rely on the opponent is nice, especially since there are Traps you could use from hand to easily get one into your grave. Can always appreciate an easy and free Special Summon. During the Main Phase as a Quick Effect, you can tribute this card to Special Summon a Jinzo from the hand or graveyard and then destroy all Traps the opponent controls, while revealing their Set cards. Cool way to adapt the Trap Search effect of Jinzo from the anime, though I wish it floated into Jinzo from the Deck, but maybe that would of been too good. Jinzo at least is easy to get to now. Each effect here is a hard once per turn, which is again fine here. It’s a nice Jinzo retrain, which I can appreciate. It does nothing to stop Traps itself, but it at least gets Jinzo out quicker to do that for you, so it does have a role. At the very least it’s a free Special Summon to become Level 6 for the new Jinzo Rank 6.

Advanced Rating: 3.5/5

Art: 4.5/5 Jinzo is gonna destroy your Traps now.

Probably saw this coming, but Jinzo the Machine Menace closes the week.  So how much better is this than the original Jinzo, if at all?  Everything the same as the OG Jinzo, save being Level 7 instead of Level 6.  2400 attack not great for a Level 7.  A Trap face-up on the Field or in either Graveyard, which is insanely easy to accomplish, lets you Special Summon this from you Hand, and it becomes Level 6 until the End of said turn.  Tributing this card, via Quick Effect, lets you Special Summon OG Jinzo from your Hand or Grave.  Versatility is nice, I don’t see at that point why it couldn’t include the Deck, but 2 out of 3 is still good to see.  Then, you can destroy all Traps your opponent controls and reveal any Set ones.  So this does let you destroy your opponents Traps, and you have OG Jinzo to negate and suppress Traps after for as long as he can stay on the Field.  It’s a fun addition and effect here.  I don’t like much that THIS Jinzo version doesn’t do much for or to Traps itself (having to leave the Field to do so) but it benefits greatly from that being a Quick Effect.  It’d be nice if it did a little burn, or got an attack boost for the Traps on the Field before having to sacrifice himself to destroy them.  Fun card, and it’s alright, but it’s not great.

Rating:  3/5

Art:  4/5  Jinzo doesn’t seem to have changed at all, which is okay, because the art is already amazing.  The background is awesome, and the laser eyes are fun.
