Hello Pojo Fans,

Foolish Burial is an old card and has become insanely useful since its release.

Send 1 monster from your Deck to the graveyard, simple, easy, powerful, and almost always a plus in your favor. The only time you can’t activate Foolish is if your under spell lockdown, your grave is unusable, or if you don’t have any monsters. Almost every deck in the game could play this for even just one card in their deck, even if it was just to get a monster into the grave. At the very worst it will thin the deck for you to get a better chance at something better. Lightsworn, Shaddoll, Dragon Link, PK Fire, Drytron, Zombie, the list goes on and on. It isn’t quite a staple, but it is pretty close.

Not much else to say: really good card, useful in so many decks and archetypes, but not all, and that’s why it isn’t a “staple”.

Throwback Thursday this week brings us to a classic Spell that’s seen its time on the Limited section of the list for well over a decade now: Foolish Burial.

Foolish Burial is a Normal Spell that lets you send any monster from Deck to grave. Simply put, you run the one copy you’re allowed in any Deck that wants monsters in the grave. It’s why it’s great when Decks like that get a card that does something like Foolish Burial. Loading up the grave with monsters has become better and better over time. Back around the release you already had monsters to use with this like Malicious, Dasher, or Treeborn Frog to name a few. It’s a card that gets better with age and you’re more likely to see it banned more than you are to see it go to two or three. For now it’s perfectly fine at Limited status and its a nice card for various different Decks.

It kinda feels weird, knowing this card is so good, and I don’t have much to say.  You know how and why this card is good (I’ve done this multiple times as well) but currently Limited, and even that might be one too many.  Any Deck, anywhere, should be using the copy of this they’re allowed.  These days, having a card in your Grave, whatever you want, immediately, even having to use another Card or Effect to get it, as opposed to bringing it to your Hand, is one of the best ways to go with this.  Whatever you dump you’re either immediately retrieving and using, or removing or cycling for something else.  It’s one of the ultimate combo cards the game has ever seen.

Art:  3.5/5  Nothing particularly inspiring about this, but not bad.
