Yet another new Mirror card, this time as part of the Aquamirror mini-archetype, Focused Aquamirror is a Normal Spell. Its first effect is simple but strong, searching any Gishki monster you like. The vast majority of the time you’ll be looking for Gishki Grimness, but if you already have it, you can always pick up Gishki Vision, Gishki Shadow, or whichever Ritual monster you need at the time. The other effect is a hard once per turn, and is a lot stronger than it looks; if you control a WATER Ritual monster (IE most Gishki Rituals) during the End Phase, you can banish Focused Aquamirror from the Graveyard to set any Aquamirror Spell or Trap directly to you field, except itself. In general, this effect is good to fetch follow up so that you can summon more Rituals next turn, but its strongest purpose is setting Aquamirror Illusion. With their new boss monster, you can abuse its non-once per turn negate by summoning it again after it bounces itself with its effect; we’ll get to that later. Overall, an amazing card for Gishki, operating as both a ROTA and additional value for your endboard if you happen to open it.

Midweek brings us to a Spell for Gishki that isn’t actually a Ritual Spell: Focused Aquamirror.

Focused Aquamirror is a Normal Spell that lets you add a Gishki monster from Deck to hand on activation. The simiplest form of consistency for a Deck, which is really good. It helps search for Gishki Grimness to summon Gishki Abyss from Deck and then search for Gishki Shadow or Gishki Vision, or it gets you to Shadow or Vision if you already got the Grimness to help get to the other. It also searches youur Ritual Monsters if you’re ready to perform a Ritual Summon, which is nice. No hard once per turn on the search, so a lot of consistency here. The HOPT goes to the graveyard effect that triggers in the End Phase if youu control a WATER Ritual, letting you set an Aquamirror card directly from the Deck, besides another copy of this. It’s alright to help get to Gishki Aquamirror for more Ritual Summons, or you can get Aquamirror Illusion to summon your Rituals directly from hand, which works well with this archetype’s newest Ritual. Focused Aquamirror is a great card for Gishki, boosting the consistency for you to see your play enablers or boss monsters, plus it makes more of the Aquamirror cards besides Gishki Aquamirror actually useful, so it’s an easy 3-of for Gishki.
