Hello Pojo Fans,

Destiny HERO – Malicious now can be used at full power, and that is the only way to play him.

Get this guy in the grave anyway you can (preferably Destiny Draw) and use his effect to Extra Deck summon until you burn through all your copies. This guy in the past was a terror because it allowed you to go into powerful Level 8 Synchro monsters with ease alongside Krebons and E-Teleport. With Stratos at 3 now and Malicious at 3, along with other E-HERO monsters with great effects, could we be seeing a return of HEROS? Not entirely sure about that, but you never know. Destiny Hero – Malicious is so splashable. If you discard, you can run him, if you draw, you can run him. There are times where you may draw into him off a card like Destiny Draw, but those times are few and far between. There are even more ways now to get Malicious into the grave, but the old ways are still best (Armageddon Knight and Foolish Burial).

Malicious hasn’t lost his playability, it always depends on how many you can use in the format.

Next up is another card that went to three from two, and one that basically makes the Semi-Limited section have a point for when this gets too powerful, Destiny HERO – Malicious.

Malicious is a Level 6 DARK Warrior with 800 ATK and DEF. Great attribute and typing, but those stats are bleh to see on a Level 1, let alone a tribute monster. That doesn’t matter as much since the only thing this card does is banish itself from the graveyard to summon another Malicious from the deck. I can remember a ton of decks abusing this from Airblade Turbo, to Diamond Dude Turbo, to Tele-DAD, to DARK Warrior Link, and many others I probably forgot to mention. It was put to two only a year ago I believe and now it’s already back to three, though I guess Warrior Link doesn’t have as good a win condition as they used to. This effect is still great for Synchro and Link spam and it shows that summoning from the deck is still amazing, even if you summon something that does nothing on the field besides being a material for something. Now with three of these again, you don’t have to feel as bad when you draw two, but feel worse if you somehow draw all three. It’s a great card for many different decks, HEROs included, and one that’ll be played at max in any deck it is put into.

Art: 5/5 Malicious looks menacing, too bad its stats aren’t.

Destiny Hero-Malicious also finds himself Unrestricted these days.  Malicious is a simple card, with a simple but useful effect in a variety of Decks.  From times of yore to present, in fact.  The stats are rather undesirable, 800 attack and defense is awful on a Level 6 (but Level 6 is good given the effect) as are the Dark and Warrior attached to this card.

By removing himself from play from your Graveyard, you can Special Summon another Malicious from your Deck.  Which gives you something to Tribute (for a Monster, cost, effect, whatever) or opens Extra Deck plays.  It’s great for Link spam, XYZ, and even Synchro, whatever it is you happen to be doing.  Moderate construct is needed, you can’t just throw 2 or 3 in your Deck, and expect it to work out for you.

But obviously simply dumping and removing to bring another to the Field is beyond easy enough to abuse.  I think Tech fits this card rather aptly, and although you might as well be using 3 if you’re going to use them at all, if you have room to store just in your Side-Deck even, that might be worth considering.  For those who haven’t played with Malicious, he might surprise you.

Art:  4.5/5  This picture is rather menacing.  All the darkness here does suggest malicious intent, I feel.
