Did you think they’d run out of ways to push mana creatures? I had, and apparently I was wrong. The humble Llanowar Elves has been the most powerful creature in Standard more than once, so what should we expect from Delighted Halfling? It’s going directly into Modern, so it’s probably not going to warp anything there, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t strong. You get the Cavern of Souls bonus without having to use an extra card, and being limited to legendary creatures is tempting to build around (and not as hard as it would have been even a few years ago). Not to mention that it helps force commanders out past blue decks and high commander taxes!

A bit of a tweak of the standard mana dork, Delighted Halfling can produce colorless mana unconditionally and colored mana to cast a legendary spell. Notably, the protection extends to any legendary spell and not just creatures, which offers a solid amount of synergy both in this set and in terms of supporting other strategies. They won’t usurp the standard mana producers any time soon, since you do generally want enough legendary things to make this be considered an “upgrade”, but I definitely see Delighted Halfling having a lot of legs; it’s also a 1/2, which makes for a passable pinch blocker.
