If your monster attacks a Defense Position monster, inflict piercing battle damage to your opponent. Once per turn, when your monster destroys an opponent’s monster by battle: You can inflict damage to your opponent equal to the destroyed monster’s original ATK. If this card is destroyed: You can Special Summon both 1 “Dark Magician” and 1 “Gaia the Dragon Champion” from your hand, Deck, Extra Deck, and/or GY.

Now we look at some cards to basically try to combine two themes from each era that recently got support in core sets. We start with DM era and see Dark Magician and Gaia the Dragon Champion become Dark Magician the Knight of Dragon Magic.
Knight of Dragon Magic is a Level 8 DARK Dragon Fusion with 2900 ATK and 2400 DEF. Stats are pretty good, DARK is great, and Dragon is always good. Materials are Dark Magician and any Level 7 or higher Dragon/Warrior monster, basically Dark Magician and Gaia. All your monsters do piercing with this on the field, which is pretty nice. Once per turn, when your monster destroys an opponent’s in battle, you can deal damage equal to that monster’s ATK, which helps with the piercing to keep adding on some damage to the opponent. Finally, upon destruction, you can summon a Dark Magican and a Gaia the Dragon Champion from your hand, Deck, Extra Deck, and/or graveyard. Can never complain about floating into 2 monsters for 1, even if those two monsters have no effects. Just sucks you won’t be able to revive a Gaia the Dragon Champion you summon from the Extra Deck with this. It’s a cool Fusion overall, captures Dark Magician and Gaia pretty well. There’s just already so many better Dark Magician Fusions with Yugi’s other monsters that this just doesn’t live up. TCG has Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon, so that’s a high bar to live up to, and the Level 7 Dragon you use for this could be going towards Dragoon. Cool card, just probably won’t see much play.
