Hello Pojo Fans,
Dark Corridor is that easy-to-use support Dark Worlds will enjoy that may kick back up the Dark World buzz.
RoTA for Dark World monsters of any level, then a free discard to activate any of your Dark World monster’s effects. Once per turn prevents even more abuse of deck thinning. Dark Corridor is a turn-starting card. You want to see it in the opening hand, search out anything you want and start your combos. At the very worst it is going to eat up a negation that will clear the way for your other Dark World monsters to go unhindered. Even if you search just to discard that monster you are going to be getting something out of it. 1-for-1 is the worst you can get if this card goes off successfully.
Dark Corridor had hype to it when the new Dark World support came out. It’s a shame it wasn’t in the support instead of being later on as the Dark World hype has cooled down. Dark Worlds are about fast-hitting, swarming, and finishing the game quickly. If you can stem their plays you can slow them down and take advantage. This card helps give them another search option and another card to eat up a negation.

Midweek brings us a Dark World card from the anime that we waited over a decade and a half for to boost the Deck’s consistency, Dark Corridor.
Dark Corridor is a Normal Spell that lets you add any Dark World monster from your Deck to your hand, then you discard a card. Pretty solid overall to get to a specific Dark World you want, even if you immediately plan to discard it with this effect. It makes the Sillva hand-loop easier to do by searching for the Sillva or the new Reign-Beaux that can search it as well. You can also search Snoww and discard her to get 2 cards out of the Deck. Search for Grapha and discard him to the graveyard to have him setup there. Discard a Ceruli to get the Dark World combo going off. There’s several options for a card like this in Dark World. I would of said it was a easy 3-of, but being a hard once per turn in a Deck that doesn’t have many of those and doesn’t really like them does hinder it a bit. I say 2 is more than enough still, you are drawing a ton of cards in Dark World and don’t want to see this too often due to the HOPT restriction.

The fan-favorite Dark World archetype gets another card in Dark Corridor, a Normal Spell that can uncharacteristically be activated only once per turn. Dark Corridor searches any Dark World monster, then discards any card for effect. On paper, this card looks like a three-of staple in Dark World, being a ROTA that can also kickstart your plays. For more midrange style Dark World builds, it is indeed a massive consistency booster that can help kickstart combos. For Danger Dark World builds as we know it, however, Dark Corridor is paradoxically not ideal to run at three copies, simply because it’s a hard once per turn. Danger Dark World is prone to being stopped in its tracks by drawing dead cards, and two other copies of Dark Corridor would essentially be stuck in your hand; it could’ve been another extender or a Danger monster to keep your momentum going. Again, when you’re not drawing your entire deck on turn 1, Dark Corridor is very strong, it’s just a liability for the deep draw strategy. Playing one doesn’t hurt, though.
