We enter the Zexal era for the anime references and we look at the setting for the final antagonist duel in the series, Barian Untopia.

Barian Untopia is a Field Spell that’s always treated as a Barain’s card, just so it can be searchable mainly. First off, this Field Spell gives your Number monsters between 101 and 107 along with your CXyz and Number C monsters protection from targeting or destruction effects from the opponent, which is pretty good to give to some of your boss monsters. The second effect is a soft once per turn that triggers when you summon a Xyz Monster with the effect of a Rank-Up-Magic Spell Card, letting you target the monster you summoned another another monster the opponent controls to attach the opponent’s monster to yours as Xyz Material. Alright removal, though it requires the use of Rank-Up-Magics, which is something you never want to usually go too heavy on in a more optimalized build of any Deck, otherwise it starts getting bricky. It’s better if your Deck could search the Rank-Up-Magic, and then the issue comes to getting to this, which it’s searchable, so you might want that as well if you’re going to play it. It’s extremely niche, but it isn’t terrible on paper.

Art: 5/5 Yeah, it’s just the Barian World from Zexal, with the specific shot being from Episode 99 of the show. The Japanese name of this card (Land of Hope – Barian) is also a reference to the Japanese name of CXyz Barian Hope (Chaos Xyz: King of Hope – Varian).
