Weezing (Hidden Fates 29/68) is all about the Ability, “Surrender Now”. It may only be used when you discard Weezing from your hand through the effect of Jessie & James during your turn. When you do get to use it, you can force your opponent to discard a card from their hand.  They pick which card gets discarded, and the effect of Surrender Now resolves after that of Jessie & James. I wanted to be sure, so I asked over in the Ask The Rules Team section of Pokégym, and yes multiple copies of Jessie & James can be triggered at once; “Once per turn…” is just the usual reminder text. You’ll also see I failed my Reading Comprehension Check as I also asked whether you could use Surrender Now if you discarded a Weezing in response to their Jessie & James… forgetting the Ability clearly states it only works during your turn.

How about the rest of the card? It may be tricky to run with Weezing (SM – Unbroken Bonds 74/214) due to the 4 Copy Rule… which might matter to one deck. [P] Typing is a mixed bag for Type-matching (Weakness and Resistance show up quite a bit) but matters because of Mysterious Treasure access. 120 HP is high enough not to be fragile but low enough not to be durable, except when being damaged by [P] Types where Weezing’s [P] Weakness does make it a probable OHKO. No Resistance is typical. The Retreat Cost of [CCC] is a pain to pay. “Tackle” offers a decent 40 for [C], but it isn’t enough to justify playing Weezing except when desperate.

Standard Format control decks should be trying to run Jessie & James, and that probably means making room for Weezing. Yes, that is a lot of space, and you aren’t guaranteed to pull off the combo, but when it works, it can be vicious. Any Standard deck that isn’t shooting for the combo has no reason to run Weezing. Without Jessie & James, there is no reason to run this Weezing in Expanded. On the other hand, in the Limited Format, it would be a solid beatstick… except I don’t think you can use Hidden Fate packs for sanctioned Limited Format play, due to them only existing in things like giftsets.
