Tally-ho! Springans – #PHHY-EN054

When you activate this card, you can also detach up to 3 materials from monsters you control; add 1 “Springans” monster from your Deck to your hand, then, if you detached any material at activation, you can Special Summon that many “Springans” monsters from your hand or GY. During your Main Phase, if this card is in your GY: You can target 1 Xyz Monster on the field; detach 1 material from it, and if you do, add this card to your hand. You can only use 1 “Tally-ho! Springans” effect per turn, and only once that turn.

Hello Pojo Fans,

Tally-ho! Springans revisits our old friends within the Albaz storylore.

While technically not the first Quick-Play Spell for the archetype, this is the first dedicated one for the Springans.

RoTA for the Springans in addition to a Special Summon card depending on if you are able to detach materials from Xyz monsters you may control. Hand or grave pertaining to Springans only, and up to three max, this is another way to reuse Springans Kitt and Springans Rockey if they were to be attached as materials or in your graveyard. None of the Springans Main Deck monsters have effects off being Special Summoned except those two, as most have an effect to attach to an Xyz Monster. This can be a way to part materials off of an Xyz and attach them to a different Springan Xyz monster like Exblower which requires Level 8 monsters. At its base level, which is nice, it is a Quick-Play RoTA for the archetype.

Main Phase ability to attach itself to any Xyz on the field through detaching a material. Simple effect really, detach a Springans monster to attach this only to re-attach the Springans you detached when it’s in the graveyard. Good way to get another Xyz Material onto an Xyz and enable effects that require two or more materials.

Quick-Play RoTA is all you needed to know about this card. Sure, it can detach up to three Springans from Xyz Monsters and then Special Summon Springans up to that amount, but unless you’ve got Kitt or Rockey in your grave this shouldn’t mean much. Able to move around Xyz Materials that way in addition to attaching itself to any Xyz you control without any loss if you involve it with a Springans monster, which you will since this card is archetype-only. Decent card for the archetype.

Next up we take a look at a brand new Springans card to boost the archetype: Tally-ho! Springans.

Tally-ho is a Quick-Play Spell you can activate and detach up to 3 materials from Xyz Monsters you control on activation, letting you then add a Springans monster from your Deck to your hand and then if you did detach any materials, you can summon that many Springans monsters from your hand or graveyard. It’s a good search Spell for the archetype that can also help you swarm the board with your Springans to help make more Xyz Monsters. The only Springans in the Main Deck I can see you wanting to keep on the board is Captain Sargas, but summoning Rockey is good to recover more Springans from your graveyard and Pedor can sacrifice itself for a different Springans later on. The second effect triggers in the graveyard during the Main Phase, letting you detach a material from a Xyz Monster on the field to add this back to the hand. Easy recovery effect for the card, and you don’t really use the Xyz Materials on your Springans monsters that much, plus the new boss for Springans does trigger an effect with all the detaching of Xyz Materials. You only get one effect a turn and only once that turn, cause otherwise something like this might be too powerful for Springans. Still, it’s a great boost to the archetype, which it really deserved since out of all the Albaz archetypes, Springans are with Icejades in archetypes from the lore not having too big of a meta impact. This is certainly a card you don’t want to go without in the Springans Deck, maybe even max out on it to see it as soon as possible.

Springans get a much-needed boost with Tally-ho! Springans, a Quick Play Spell for the Springans archetype and searchable through Springans Branga or a new card we have coming up later this week. Tally-ho has a strict hard once per turn one per turn, so you can’t use it twice for both effects, which is fair considering what it does. On activation, you can search any Springans monster from your deck, and optionally, you can detach up to 3 Xyz materials from monsters you control to Special Summon that many Springans monsters from your hand or Graveyard. Springans really needed a loaded effect like this; it’s essentially a ROTA and Soul Charge rolled into one, and considering that Springans are a Graveyard-heavy deck, detaching Xyz materials is more helpful than it looks. It also lets a certain new Sprignans boss become disruption, but we’ll get to that later. Tally-ho’s other effect can only be used during your Main Phase in the Graveyard, letting you recycle it back to your hand by targeting any Xyz monster on the field and detaching an Xyz material from it. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to use it again immediately, but it does set up explosive follow up later if the duel isn’t over yet. Overall, an extremely powerful card for Springans; it’s a bit overbalanced, but still incredibly useful, if only for the ROTA effect.
