If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can add 1 “Assault Mode Activate”, or 1 card that specifically lists “Assault Mode Activate” in its text, from your Deck to your hand, except “Psi-Reflector”. You can reveal 1 “Assault Mode Activate” in your hand, then target 1 monster in your GY that specifically lists “Assault Mode Activate” in its text, except “Psi-Reflector”; Special Summon it, and if you do, increase its Level by 1 to 4. You can only use each effect of “Psi-Reflector” once per turn.

Hello Pojo Fans,
Psi-Reflector is new support for Assault monsters and the first card being reviewed this week.
Assault support searcher in monster form is welcome as Assault Beast was the only constructive monster the archetype had. Assault Mode Activate search is even better a search as you only had Assault Mode Zero (released in the same set as Psi-Reflector) to search Assault Mode Activate within the archetype. Normal or Special Summon of Psi-Reflector gives you a search, giving you more options to get to what you want. Monster Reborn effect for any monster with “Assault Mode Activate” in the text is another thing the archetype needed. Search the AMA and then activate Psi-Reflector’s second effect to get any of your Assault Mode monsters back and increase their level. This effect is for you to use the other setup “Assault Mode” monsters in your deck alongside your Psi-Reflector to Synchro Summon whichever Assault Mode monster you are aiming to summon next. Psi-Reflector is now your best Tuner: able to search and change levels of another monster, it is a one-turn Synchro/Assault Mode setup.
Discard Assault Beast for the search of AMA, summon Psi-Reflector, get your Assault Mode monster, reveal the AMA card you searched from Beast, Special Summon Beast back, increase it’s level by 3, making a Level 8 Synchro and getting your Assault Mode monster next Draw Phase of your opponent.
Until Next Time
Looking at more cards from the new Crimson Crisis… I mean Dark Neostorm set, we head into the new Assault Mode support, kicking things off with Psi-Reflector.
Psi-Reflector is a Level 1 DARK Psychic Tuner with 400 ATK and 300 DEF. Stats are low as expected on a Level 1, which is a solid Tuner level, I love DARK for Allure of Darkness and Psychic allows for Emergency Teleport. Upon summon, Reflector searches for any Assault Mode Activate or a card that lists Assault Mode Activate in its text from the deck. Great searchability, get Assault Beast and discard Beast to search Assault Mode Activate to synergize well with Reflector’s second effect. You can reveal an Assault Mode Activate from your hand to revive any monster that lists Assault Mode Activate in the effect text except another Psi-Reflector and increase its level from 1 to 4. Again, summon this to search Assault Beast, discard Beast to search Assault Mode Activate, use this to revive the Beast as probably Level 7 to eventually summon Red Dragon Archfiend, Stardust Dragon, or Colossal Fighter to summon their Assault Mode versions, most preferably Stardust Dragon. I can’t suggest the others because Doomkaiser Dragon needs Plaguespreader Zombie as the Tuner and Zombie non-Tuners, Hyper Psychic Blaster needs Psychic non-Tuners, Arcanite Magician needs Spellcaster non-Tuners, and T.G. Halberd Cannon is a Synchro of 3 or more Synchros basically, but there is a way to help summon Hyper Psychic Blaster or Arcanite Magician as we’ll see tomorrow. For now, Psi-Reflector is still a one card Assault Mode, which is great considering Stardust Dragon/Assault Mode is great. If you play around with these Assault Mode cards, Psi-Reflector is a three-of without hesitation.
Advanced Rating: 4.25/5
Art: 4/5 A miniature version of Hyper Psychic Blaster looks like.
Assault week eh? A nifty piece of this new support in the Assault puzzle is Psi-Reflector. Appropriately a Psychic, Tuner is always good, even if it’s only a Level 1, and Dark is a bonus. 400/300 for attack and defense aren’t anything special, but Level 1 factors into that too. So a Summon (Normal or Special) nets you Assault Mode Activate or a card that specifically lists that that in its text from your Deck, other than this card.
Free cards upon Summons, especially when that’s not restricted to a Normal Summon, are both very valuable things. Furthermore, you can reveal Assault Mode Activate from your Hand to Target and Special Summon a Monster (again, other than this card) from your Graveyard that again lists the magic phrase in its text, and increase its Level for 1 to 4. That does open some doors for you.
Bring out another whatever you want, and all of a sudden you have two Material and at least 5 stars to work with, and if you want or need something else, play it (assuming you still can that turn) and Synchro into something else. You’ll likely have Assault Mode Activate, which only sets up a bigger Monster and play for you. If you’re planning on running Assault mode, this is a great card in multiples for you, for speed and combos.
Art: 4/5 also, definitely a Psychic, I think that’s supposed to be a younger or miniature Hyper Psychic Blaster, (right?) but I’m not 100% on that.
