Numbers Last Hope

Numbers Last Hope – #BLMR-EN004

(This card is always treated as a “Galaxy-Eyes” card.)
Pay half your LP, then target 2 monsters in your GY; Special Summon both, but negate their effects, then, immediately after this effect resolves, Xyz Summon 1 “Number” Xyz Monster using only those 2 monsters, also for the rest of this turn after this card resolves, you can only Special Summon one more time from the Extra Deck. You can only activate 1 “Numbers Last Hope” per turn.

A Zexal-era card based around both Yuma and Kite was of course going to have a ton to do with Number monsters, so here we are with Numbers Last Hope.

Numbers Last Hope is a Normal Spell that’s always treated as a Galaxy-Eyes card, mostly for searchability. Anyways, you use this and pay half your LP to target 2 monsters in your graveyard and Special Summon them with their effects negated, then you Xyz Summon a monster using only the two targeted monsters as materials, but you can only summon one more time from the Extra Deck for the rest of the turn. It reminds me of Advanced Healdry Art from the Heraldic Beast archetype, only now it’s generic. Half your LP can be steep, so the Number you go for has to be worth it. Being only able to summon from the Extra Deck one more time isn’t that big of a deal if you go for a boss monster like Number 38 or Number 90. The extra summon from the Extra Deck is probably intended to let you summon a Number C monster potentially using a Rank-Up-Magic or just slapping it on top your monster. Hard once per turn on this card, of course. It’s not really all that bad. It’s a quick and easy way to get a Number monster on the field after you make your plays. The limit of the Extra Deck for the rest of the turn might mean you aren’t going for playmakers like Number 60, but the Number archetype has a ton of monsters that make for great end board pieces. Overall a solid card that just needs a great use for it.

Advanced Rating: 3/5

Art: 4.5/5 Unless that actually is Number 62, you’d think this would actutally feature a Number monster in some way instead of Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon. Maybe get Utopia in here somehow? Either way, it’s pretty artwork actually.
