Love is in the air today as we have a special Sunday review on Valentine’s Day looking at a classic Yu-Gi-Oh waifu card that was once banned, Injection Fairy Lily.
IJF is a Level 3 EARTH Spellcaster with 400 ATK and 1500 DEF. Very low ATK on Level 3, but being EARTH and Spellcaster is nice. All IJF does really is let you pay 2000 LP when she attacks or is attacked to gain 3000 ATK during damage calculation only. Pretty simple, yet effective way to get to 3400 ATK. Considering you start with 8000 LP, you only get 3 uses of this before she gets ran over and destroyed or you lose cause you decided to pay your last 2000 LP, assuming tournaments let you. Back in the day, it was great considering how simple everything else was and how she could easily run over any monster in the game minus Equip Spells used. She still could if you played her, there’s just better ways to take care of the job without paying 2000 LP now, and even then there are better ways to make use of your own LP. Low stats on her own make her easy to destroy, but back then at least you could justify Sangan and Witch of the Black Forest. She’s a great classic card, she was banned at a point as mentioned, though we could debate it wasn’t warranted, but now she doesn’t hold up as well when you could use anything else really.
Advanced Rating: 2/5
Art: 4/5 She’s still fairly cute after well over a decade and a half.
Happy Valentine’s Day to one and all as we look at Injection Fairy Lily! She’s spreading love, and maybe COVID vaccinations with her giant needle. One of the cutest cards still to date in Yugioh who is more than she appears to be. Outside personal preference, there’s not much reason to use her, but she’s good tech in various Spellcaster or even Beatdown or Earth builds. She’s had various OTK playability as well. She’s fairly close to my heart given my love of Spellcasters and the cuteness.
Art: 5/5 No question at all
Hello Pojo Fans,
Hope everyone had a Happy Valentines Day. At times like this we all could use a little love in our lives in some shape or form. This special Valentine’s Day CoTD is brought to you by Injection Fairy Lily.
A powerhouse when she was first released long long ago, Lily is searchable and an easy way to do a lot of damage or take down a boss monster. In the days where the game was much more simple, Lily was devastating. Damage Step effect activation, not once per turn, if you have the LP you can take out a bunch of your opponents monsters if you are on the defensive. 2000LP for a 3000ATK boost isn’t anything, and early game it is even less of a factor. I was one of many players I’m sure to use Cybernetic Magician to boost Lily to 2000ATK before you boosted her 3000ATK more. She got under Gravity Bind, Level Limit, and Messenger of Peace. If her attack got negated by something like Sakaratsu Armor, Negate Attack, or Mirror Force you wouldn’t have to pay, making Lily in destruction a 1-for-1. Nowadays she can still have an effect, but her playability is far less. Sangan and Witch prevent you from activating her effect the turn she’s searched, and the game itself has moved forward with a larger card pool. Despite that, I feel like Lily remains a strong monster. She can take down almost any monster you could run across in the Main Deck, as well as a ton of monsters in the Extra Deck. With more monster negation in the game though, Lily will likely never see the play she used to.
Love the card, was a staple in my early decks, and a fond Secret Rare I pulled from one of the packs my mom got me.
Art-4.5/5 When it’s your turn, get the vaccine, I can’t wait to get mine
