Grand Architect actually shared a Standard format with Stoneforge Mystic and Jace the Mind Sculptor, which is probably why we haven’t heard as much about him all these years. There are obvious synergies between those three abilities, and various benefits you can gain from some combination of them, whether it’s a bonus to attacking or artifact acceleration out of nowhere. His abilities are rather niche, but useful in the right deck: he’s definitely a rogue card to watch out for in casual, and perhaps occasionally in constructed.

Grand Architect is an interesting mix of artifact lord and color-based tribal lord, enabling your artifacts (by casting more of them) and buffing blue creatures (with the ability to turn artifact creatures blue). Note that the wording on Grand Architect lets it get to work immediately, as it doesn’t have to necessarily tap to draw mana. All the same, while the primary value of it is as an enabling creature for artifacts, it has a fair amount of versatility to its game, and any artifact deck might have the means to milk it for all it is worth.

Constructed: 3 (I can see some use for it, but it’s maybe a bit too fair)
Casual: 4
Limited: 4
Multiplayer: 3
Commander: 3.75
