Hello Pojo Fans,

Gizmek Kaku, the Supreme Shining Sky Stag came a little too late to the party.

Easily Special Summoned…but with Master Rule 5 making it much MUCH easier to avoid the Extra Monster Zone, you won’t always be able to Special Summon this monster, but it’s safe to say you’ll still have a chance most of the time, especially if you are the one putting a monster in the Extra Monster Zone. Thousand Eyes Restrict absorption ability then the power to cough that monster up on the field as your own is like a +3 in one effect after you meet the requirement. Worth stating that Kaku can be used alongside another Level 9 to make Ture King of All Calamities and that with 2750 across the board it should be able to meet its requirement of destroying a monster by battle to activate its absorb effect. It would’ve been nice to have it gain some protection by absorbing, but not every monster that can do this can be Relinquished. This is a card that punishes your opponent for using the Extra Monster Zone, punishes them for using Link Monsters.

This Gizmek is better than the original unless you are running a banish-style deck. It has no cost to summon and no cost to activate its effect, doesn’t trigger destruction effects, and can make an opponents monster your own each time you absorb then destroy a monster of your opponents by battle. It is a splashable card in almost any deck willing to run it. It is a sneaky card and a solid Side Deck option.

We end the week with a monster that gives us that nice “Boss Monster” vibe in Gizmek Kaku, the Supreme Shining Sky Stag.

Kaku is a Level 9 FIRE Machine with 2750 ATK and DEF. The stats are pretty strong, even though it’s a Level 9 and I’m sure an even 2800 would of been better, but FIRE is a fun Attribute with this to synergize with Salamangreats maybe and Machine brings some fun out sometimes. If there’s a monster in the Extra Monster Zone, you can Special Summon this card from the hand. Insanely easy to get out a 2750 body and Level 9 monster for True King of All Calamities or something. It’s pretty strong to allow it to be your Extra Monster Zone as well. Its other effect lets you target a face-up monster in the Extra Monster Zone, likely the opponent’s, and equip it to this card. This card can only be equipped with 1 monster via this effect at a time and when this card destroys an opponent’s monster in battle, you can Special Summon 1 of your Monsters equipped to this card. It doesn’t have to be the one Kaku equipped himself, but it probably will be 99% of the time. If you can get this equipped with a powerful monster of the opponent’s like a Borrelsword Dragon or something along those likes, the ability to steal it as your own monster is super strong. Sure you got to destroy a monster in battle, which can be unreliable, but it makes up for that by letting you keep that monster and at the very least you equipped it to this card and then used this as material for a summon while sending the opponent’s monster to the grave. Each effect here is a once per turn, which is fine considering how good they are. Kaku might feel like another case of a monster being better in Master Rule 4 than it would be post April, but I can still see it getting some play beyond that point. It’s a fairly good card.

Art: 4/5 It always feels like there’s a lot going on with Gizmek arts, but I still like them.

Gizmek Kaku, the Supreme Shining Sky Stags closes our week.  Level 9, 2750 attack and defense, and a Machine/Fire Monster(interesting combination, you’d think Shining Sky might lead to Light).  The 2750 attack, while good, is low on a Level 9.  But the insane ease of Special Summoning this guy makes up for it.  You can drop him from your Hand if a Monster is in the Extra Monster Zone.

Doesn’t even have to be in your Zone, or your Monster, just one needs to exist.  He can also Target and attach a Monster from the Extra Monster Zone (again, yours or your opponents) and attach it to himself.  And when this card destroys a Monster in Battle, you can Special Summon the attached Monster to your side of the Field.  Wow.  Taking a Monster is one thing, being able to Special Summon it is a whole different awesome.

Only one can be attached at a time, so be mindful of that, but that’s hardly much of a hindering in the effect.  Each effect here is once per turn.  It’s been a solid week, and it ends on a high note here too.  Honestly, despite being a Machine (and Fire) this card could easily be Teched into many Decks as well.  Enjoy it, use it, and abuse it while you can.
