Galazeth has curiously low mana costs and combat stats compared to other cards with the same type, but I feel like it’s easy to underestimate him. Obviously an artifact mana boost with universal applications would be more, well, universally relevant, and yet I can’t help think about the kinds of game states that result from casting cards like Blatant Thievery or Warp World way ahead of schedule. He’s quite fitting for blue-red as a color combination in that way. So many of their cards don’t read as being particularly threatening, until a late turn when you look at the table and wonder “Why am I losing?”

The Prismari like their spells large and in charge, and Galazeth Prismari wants to help with that. He himself isn’t the biggest creature, as a 3/4 with flying for 4 mana, but his ability is pretty nifty. Turning massive amounts of treasure (or gold, or food) into repeatable mana batteries is not insignificant, and he can definitely enable the outrageous spells his house is known for. He definitely needs to be built with Prismari/Izzet in mind, as he’s not especially splashable, but he’s a vicious enabler for spellslinger decks that like their spells absurdly large.

Constructed: 3.5 (not sure Prismari is the way to go in Standard yet, but I could be wrong)
Casual: 4.5
Limited: 4.75
Multiplayer: 4
Commander: 4
