As far as I know, Ellywick is a brand-new character for both Magic and Forgotten Realms, and fittingly, her abilities are largely about showcasing the brand-new dungeon mechanic. While none of the dungeon rooms’ effects are always game-breaking on their own, getting lots of them over multiple turns on a planeswalker (for a loyalty-increasing ability, no less) adds up well over time. You could almost think of Ellywick as the planeswalker with the most possible abilities, although many of them aren’t unique to her. Her -2 is also a good way to switch things up if you don’t need to advance further into the dungeon for whatever reason. I’m not sure how highly tournament Magic values the dungeon (Acererak’s combo deck notwithstanding), but that versatility seems highly appealing for other settings.

That, and her happy frog friend. He is easily the second friendliest-looking frog I’ve ever seen (after only Kermit)!

Here to sing the song of her people, Ellywick Tumblestrum is probably the closest to a “dungeons matter” planeswalker as we’re getting; her +1 sends you deeper in, and her ultimate gives cumulative reward for frolicking through more of them. But her -2 is actually pretty attractive: look at 6 cards, and take a creature (and benefit if it’s legendary). While dungeon cavorting’s value is maybe a bit speculative (outside of Acererak combo loops), incremental advantage isn’t half bad if you don’t need a creature. And if you do, she’ll probably find you one. A reasonable mana cost, paired with decent abilities, makes her a solid engine in a deck that is green-adjacent, and I reckon she’ll pop up as a bit player in this Constructed format.

Constructed: 3.25 (the caveat is that she protects herself poorly, but who cares)
Casual: 4.25
Limited: 4.75
Multiplayer: 3
Commander: 3.5
