Hello Pojo Fans,
Eclipse Twins brings some hype back to generic Rank 4’s.
Two Level 4 monsters, easy enough. This card also gets the perk of being able to use Rank 4 monsters as if they’re Level 4’s, not just using one as a material, but you can use two Rank 4’s to summon the Twins. With Link Summoning here you would normally just link away your empty Rank 4 and go from there, but Eclipse Twins gives you another option.
Two attacks on monsters during each Battle Phase to match the theme of the card, and all that costs is a single detach. At 2500ATK, the Twins are formidable, and two attacks has the power to clear out some of your opponent’s monsters. If you are attacking and making Rank 4’s, this is the card for you…Ryzeal. When sent to the grave the Twins will gift you two Rank 4’s to replace them (as per the theme, twins). You get whichever of the Rank 4’s and then attach the other one to the one you keep: Eclipse Twins will replace itself with a Rank 4 that is effect-ready (presumably). This is a great card to use alongside Rank 4’s that only need one detachment to activate their effect(s), hence why Ryzeal are a great meta choice for this card, but something like Exosister or Madolche will benefit greatly from this. Tech options like Abyss Dweller, Castel, Exciton Knight, Gagaga Cowboy, and Bagooska are options for Eclipse Twins to bring back to activate their effects immediately. There is some good utility for this card and it holds its own in ATK.
While the main reason you’ll play Rank 4’s is to gain advantage from effects, Eclipse Twins is a powerful option for attacking and then recovering a Rank 4 you used/lost, and giving it a chance at using its effect again. Ryzeal can fit a copy of them in their Extra Deck to break out if they’ve spun through their Ryzeal Xyz monsters, Eclipse Twins might as well suit up in some themed Ryzeal armor, but it is also a great option for the mentioned archetypes that use several Rank 4’s and could use a little boost.

We got a new generic Rank 4 in the game for all the Ryzeal enjoyers out there, and it can be a useful piece of utility for reusing Xyz Monsters and doing more battle damage: Eclipse Twins.
Eclipse Twins is a Rank 4 LIGHT Warrior Xyz with 2500 ATK and 1200 DEF. Strong ATK for a Rank 4, LIGHT is pretty good, and Warrior is pretty nice. Materials are any 2 Level 4 monsters, so as generic as can be. For this card’s Xyz Summon, you can also treat Rank 4 monsters you control as Level 4 monsters for material to summon this, giving you a bit of versatility with Xyz Monsters that used up their material. You can detach a material from this card to have it be able to make up to 2 attacks on monsters during each Battle Phase this turn, which should get some damage in on a 2500 ATK monster. Finally, if this card is sent to the graveyard, you can target 2 other Rank 4 monsters in your graveyard to Special Summon one of them and attach the other to it as material. Pretty solid to send off Ext Ryzeal to potentially revive a Ryzeal Detonator and attach Duo Drive or Aggregator to it, or just have this under Detonator in the case something happens to it so it can come back with a material, and his effect can grab a 2nd material as well. There’s also a hand rip combo that can take several cards out of the opponent’s hand in Ryzeal thanks to Evilswarm Ouroboros and this card being able to revive it, so that’s neat. The last effect is a HOPT, as you would expect. It doesn’t look too overwhelming, but it does interesting things that some might consider a bit overpowered. I’ve heard requests for the banhammer on this card and while I don’t know if that will happen, it’s certainly a unique card that has a place in Ryzeal and some other Rank 4 strategies potentially.

Another devastating blow comes to Ryzeal haters with our next card, Eclipse Twins, a Rank 4 LIGHT Warrior Xyz monster that’ll take any 2 level 4 monsters, so any Rank 4 deck that doesn’t lock will easily make it. Otherwise, there’s not much else remarkable about its parameters since Warriors are usually folded into DARK or FIRE. Twins comes with a solid 2500 attack, the highest a generic Rank 4 can get without restrictions, but a mediocre 1200 defense that we hopefully will never have to use.
Twins will let you use Rank 4 monsters as level 4s for its Xyz Summon– generally not a great use of resources since that’ll usually be 4 monsters worth of material. Even Ryzeal would rather not do this, especially when Ryzeal Detonator is good enough as-is and you probably want to keep Ryzeal Duo Drive around for Ryzeal Cross. However, this does have niche applications for Zoodiac since you’ll effectively only need 2 monsters. Some meme FTKs have experimented with Twins as well to get more Xyz stacks for Ghostrick Angel of Mischief, so that’s nice too. Twins has an effect to detach an Xyz material to allow it to attack monsters twice that turn. Getting a beater in a pinch isn’t too bad; unusually, this effect isn’t once per turn, but there’s no real reason to use it twice outside of very niche combo lines where you’d want to trigger Graveyard effects individually instead of all at once. Speaking of which, that brings us to Twins’s last and more important effect, which is a hard once per turn effect that triggers if it’s sent to the Graveyard, letting you target two Rank 4 or lower monsters in your Graveyard, Special Summoning one of them and attaching the other to it as material. This can open up some funny combo lines in certain decks; again, Zoodiac can Link it off and get an Xyz monster back with a material (Broadbull when?). Ryzeal has gotten a lot of mileage from this effect by sending Twins with Ext Ryzeal, letting you bring back Detonator and attach Duo Drive to it as follow up or to repair your board if it gets quashed. While it’s not a significant game changer, Twins is a worthy inclusion in most Rank 4 decks, regardless of how much people seethe over the idea of supporting tiered decks. Now if only Exosister could use it…
EDIT: I have been informed that Detonator can attach Twins and detach it during your opponent’s turn to dodge all sorts of removal. Wonderful!
+Great combo and follow-up potential
+Can be a beater in a pinch
-Rather heavy material investment
-Needs specific combo lines to get the most mileage in many decks
