I think they’re officially running out of adjectives to append to planeswalker names. Domri does deliver what he promises, though, and there’s some value to be had in ramping into him as early as you can and making any creatures that cost a similar amount of mana even more impactful with his +2. His -3 ability is also pretty good at breaking stalemates and taking out low-cost planeswalkers, and his ultimate is basically a multi-turn Overrun. The other incarnation of Domri, from Ravnica Allegiance boosters, is more designed for competitive play, but casual settings will be well served by this one.

Planeswalker deck walkers are rarely great, since they are meant to be in introductory products and are not meant to be Constructed staples. This version of Domri is one of those planeswalkers; he’d be great for 4 or even 5 mana, but 6 mana is a lot to ask for even in the most ramp-heavy colors.

He does, at least, tick the boxes you’d hope for: he can protect himself with his -3, and his +2 helps you swing even larger. Same with his ultimate, which pops pretty quickly if you’re just rolling him up. As far as efficacy goes, he’s a fine piece to the Gruul deck…but, again, being six mana means he’s coming down a bit too late for the impact he has. Still, if you need something to help close out a game, you could do worse than Domri.
