Arachno-kroma is here to save us all, and salvation will come in the form of incredible beatdowns that involve lots of lifelink calculations. The caveat, of course, is that Cosmic Spider-Man does a good impression of Overrun only when you already have a bunch of spiders in play – and non-Marvel spiders are known for being rather defense-oriented. For the moment, he’ll do his best work in decks with Spider-Man variants, and maybe some new things from the upcoming New York Block Constructed format we’re apparently getting next year. But since we’re also getting a new Lorwyn set, I should probably point out that cards like Chameleon Colossus and Mirror Entity (and, for that matter, Realmwalker) are still a thing in casual play!

Cosmic Spider-Man may not be the most elegant card, but he is a glue card that sort of is meant to hold the entire Spiderverse together as a five-color anchor. It’s a 5/5 that has a lot of keywords that spreads them to all of your other Spiders…in this case, it’s clearly meant to play and pair well with all of the Spider-Man cards, and the keywords are efficacious. If you spread this to your entire army, you can easily brute force a game in short order.
That said, Cosmic Spider-Man doesn’t really have great protective keywords; flying and first strike let it win most combats, but it doesn’t take a lot to shoot it out of the proverbial sky. For a five-color, five-mana investment, while you can get immediate returns thanks to haste, losing it can definitely bring the entire thing crashing down. This should still be a solid way to bring spiders together if that’s your inclination,, though, and I think it has value for that reason.
Constructed: 3 (five color is always a tricky sell in a format not dedicated to the quintet)
Casual: 4.5
Limited: 3.75 (if you can afford it, this will end games, but the set does not gave great ways to correct color)
Multiplayer: 3.5
Commander [EDH]: 4.25

Domain cards are always a bit of a gamble. In some cases they turn out amazing, like in the case of The First Sliver, in other cases they’re just a bit meh (like the Infinite Guideline Station, which has an awesome name, but that’s about it).
This cosmic superhero does come packed with skill and a 5/5 with five extra abilities is always interesting to check out. He also gives every other spider his abilities at the beginning of combat. That makes it even more interesting. That means that if you get to the point where you can attack with a few critters totaling 20 power, you’ll gain 20 life right away. That accounts for something.
Spiders have historically leant towards green, however, so making this card five colours makes it very hard to successfully cast it and make use of all its abilities. I do like the fact that he’s just there to make everything harder, better, faster and stronger.

Commander [EDH]: 3,8 (I would love to see a Domain commander deck with this beast at the helm)
