I’m just going to take the designers’ word that this card’s clone effect works as written, because I do like the idea of a variant that not just comes on equipment but also can be moved around when you get something better to copy. It’s also an effective way of “upgrading” any creature that’s good in the early game but falls behind in the midgame. It’s worth noting that it doesn’t provide any power or toughness boosts itself, and that you lose whatever abilities the equipped creature may have had before, so there’s a limit to the kind of tricks you can pull with it; but I can see it doing fun things in the right deck.

An interesting twist on a Clone effect, Blade of Shared Souls lets you copy another creature you control when it comes into play, by virtue of the sword bringing a 2/2 body it auto-attaches to. The copy sticks as long as the sword remains attached, and you can copy something else by attaching it to something else, which makes for some interesting synergies when paired with a low enough equip cost. I think this is more cute than good, but it’s actually still pretty interesting, thanks to not being too pricey an investment either on entry or on equip, and three mana has proven to be a pretty sweet spot for this kind of effect in the past.

Constructed: 3.75
Casual: 4
Limited: 3 (reliant on other creatures to really shine, so this can be very swingy based on your pool)
Multiplayer: 3.5
Commander [EDH]: 3.75 (notably, this makes a red creature token, so you can potentially use this to duck around protection from blue in an otherwise blue deck)
