This is a pretty good candidate for a major chase rare from Final Fantasy, and maybe the overall chase rare. That’s mainly due to its similarities to established powerhouses like Courser of Kruphix and Bolas’ Citadel, and the way they help any deck establish major card advantage. But it’s not all about counting value: it also provides a kindred-specific form of that for Birds, which is not very common in itself. And doubling landfall triggers is the kind of thing that will devastate casual tables and maybe break into some competitive ones too, especially with Foundations bringing some powerful new options. If all else fails, chocobos are among the most popular elements of Final Fantasy, and even have crossover appeal for people’s cute creature or animal-themed cubes.
As a mythic, Traveling Chocobo is going to be rare enough on its own, but it has several colorful variants to let you further customize your deck and choose your favorite. I would personally have liked a white one, as a nod to Lightning’s companion from Final Fantasy XIII-2 and Lightning Returns, but the ones we did get are plenty cool themselves.

One of the fan-favorite mascots of Final Fantasy, Chocobos have been around since Final Fantasy II in 1988, appearing in every game since as a faithless steed with a decent variety of colors (and sometimes as a summon, but that’s not too relevant here). The Final Fantasy VII outing might be its most famous one, owing to the extensive Chocobo-breeding sidequest that could get you some of the best items in the game for engaging with it and finding the legendary gold Chocobo.
Traveling Chocobo is a pretty nifty card in and of itself. It lets you play lands and cast Birds from the top of your library, and it can double landfall or Bird entry triggers (Birdfall?). While Birds are definitely tempting, the landfall doubling is quite attractive with all sorts of lands that do rude things, with Field of the Dead coming to mind acutely. This doesn’t let you play extra lands, but information is always attractive, and this can do a solid job to accelerate you.
Traveling Chocobo is good support, but it’s a fairly weak creature that can still beak without remorse if you need it to. It’s a fitting card for the perennial support, and while I don’t think it’s quite a multi-format all-star, this is an alluring piece with one hell of a “vuild around me” bit of appeal.

While Chocobos are most known for going “kweh”, their Final Fantasy VII incarnation said “wark”, and I think that’s worth mention.
