Mechanically, this is a pretty straightforward equipment card for limited formats – decent stat boost, middle-of-the-road cost, and a thing that the set cares about (in this case, Spider-Man’s creature type). I’m leading with that because there isn’t really much else that cares about that right now, and so not much unique for this card to do outside of Spider-Man drafts. There’s always a possibility that there will be a future plane whose premium removal spell is Go for the Throat, but involves spiders attacking non-spiders (especially since Magic releases so many sets these days and every one has to have a hook). If that ever happens, I’m sure someone will remind us all publicly!
Conceptually, the card just had to be here in some form: there are few more thrilling scenes in superhero comics than those sequences where the main character suits up for a big confrontation. My favorite is actually the cutscene just before the last section in Batman: Arkham Origins, and Spider-Man has had plenty of his own over the years.

Now anything can be a Spider-Man. Even a lhurgoyf. That’s the most important part about this card.
Spider Suit is pretty straightforward, letting you give a creature the ability to benefit from the Spider-Man typal support for both Spiders and Heroes, as well as a modest boost. The key word is “modest”, though; +1/+2 is not a great deal with no other abilities to pair with it, and four mana for this (albeit split up in installments) does not leave me feeling optimistic about this card doing a lot. There might be plenty of Equipment support in Standard, but if I wanted to leverage stabby things and their ilk, a weak boost that demands other cards to really get the most out of it is not my idea of a good time.

Casual: 3
Limited: 3.25 (the buff can be enough to thumb the scales in Limited)
Multiplayer: 2.5
Commander [EDH]: 2.75 (I feel like the decks you might specifically care about Spider Hero creatures are ones already loaded with them)

Yesterday ‘t was the spider we talked about, today we talk about the suit!
We as Spider-Man lovers all know that it’s not about the suit. Right? Or is it? The flavor text says something else, because ‘nothing beats the classic look’. Maybe they’re right, maybe it is all about the suit.
The card is a bit underwhelming: giving the equipped creature +2/+2 for four mana isn’t really something you’d hope for. Making said creature a Spider Hero gives you a tiny little edge, but only in this set.
I’m afraid this is another card that will disappear quickly in the annals of the questionable mechanic that is equipment, but the art is awesome.
