Hello Pojo Fans,

Galatea-I, the Orcust Automaton is the new version of the original Galatea-I, and is still very helpful to Orcust and World Legacy.

Link-1 instead of a Link-2, Galatea-I requires an Orcust or World Legacy monster, which in the case of the Orcust requirement, mirrors the Link-2 version of this card. A once per turn summon restriction is good, preventing you from spam-summoning multiple copies of this. Bottom-left arrow and 0ATK don’t matter when you can link climb, but you can’t use this as part of an Xyz Summon, so no Dingirsu, but you can send something from your hand to the grave to search a World Legacy monster or Orcustrated Babel from the Deck or add it back from the grave. The Field Spell opens up to using your Orcust monsters in your grave as well as Orcust Link Monsters as Quick Effects, expanding interaction with the opponent.

Regarding World Legacy monsters, the first thing this effect can do is recycle a World Legacy Extra Deck monster. You can search World Wand from the Deck and get it to the grave to Special Summon a World Legacy from your hand, then banish Wand from the grave to Special Summon a banished Orcust monster. World Lance can be be discarded to drop an opponent’s monster’s ATK by 3000 if attacking with a Link Monster, and something like World Crown could be Special Summoned to the zone Galatea-I points to for a Link-2.

Banish an Orcust card in the grave to Special Summon Galatea-I (another reason this card’s Link Summon is only once per turn) ties into World Wand being able to Special Summon a banished Orcust monster, but most Orcust cards have banish effects, so you will lose out on that effect activating this Special Summon ability. Now, had they worded the effect “When an Orcust card is banished” that would have allowed for both to work and add some serious advantage potential to the archetype.

New Galatea may be smaller than its original version, but it is easier to summon and helps not only Orcust but World Legacy as well. The discard ability allows for grave effects in both archetypes to be online, and her Special Summon effect is easily attainable, even if it is Orcust-only and you miss out on the banish effect the Orcust card may be packing. Being a Babel searcher also broadens the ability to use Orcust cards during your opponent’s turn to get bodies on the board for next turn.

Now we finish the Trinity Box support with Orcust first with their new Link reviving Galatea into Galatea-I, the Orcust Automaton.

Galatea-I is a Link-1 DARK Machine with 0 ATK and an arrow pointing to the Bottom Left. No ATK is whatever since this especially shouldn’t last on the field, and being a DARK Machine is great, plus a good arrow. Material to summon is 1 Orcust or World Legacy monster, so a simple Normal Summon of a Girsu or Harp Horror can get you to this, as can the Token your Girsu can potentially spawn too. You can only Link Summon this once per turn, which is fair for an archetype that loves having a Link-1 now. You also cannot use this as material for an Xyz Summon, so you can’t just slap a monster on the field, turn it into this, and get a free Dingirsu. You can send a card from your hand to the graveyard to add a World Legacy monster or an Orcustrated Babel from the Deck to the hand. Yet another Link-1 that searches the Field Spell is funny, though at least this requires a discard. You can also use this to search for World Legacy – “World Crown” for a monster that Special Summons itself for free and can negate an opponent’s Special Summon, similar to Thunder King Rai-Oh, for an end board piece. You could also grab World Legacy – “World Wand” to hopefully discard later and extend your Orcust plays. Finally, if this is in the graveyard, you can banish an Orcust card from your graveyard to revive it, which can put a body back on the field to Link Climb for you after you use your Orcust HOPTs, and you can banish Orcustrated Return after you’ve already used it. HOPT on both effects of course. Galatea-I boosts the consistency of Orcust a ton by being a Link-1 that can make a Harp Horror or Cymbal Skeleton a starter for the Deck if you don’t get to Girsu. It also gives World Crown a use in Orcust now due to being searchable and it revives itself for more Link fodder. There’s a reason Orcust was able to win a YCS in 2025 after this came out. 1-2 works, the Orcust Extra Deck can be crammed with all the Links you’d want to play, and even more if mixed with Mitsurugi or K9.

Galatea is back with a vengeance as Galatea-I, the Orcust Automaton, a Link 1 DARK Machine Link monster and long-awaited bombshell card for Orcust. This time, Galatea has a single down left arrow, which isn’t too important since it’ll usually climb into Galatea, the Orcust Automaton eventually. It’ll take any Orcust or World Legacy monster, curiously enough, though for practical reasons you’ll almost always want to make it with Girsu, the Orcust Mekk-Knight or Orcust Harp Horror. To make up for being a Link 1, Galatea takes a massive hit in stats– 1800 attack wasn’t that high to begin with, but now it’s been tanked to 0. Fortunately, we still have a use for Galatea-I even with no attack stat at all.

As expected, Galatea-I can only be Link Summoned once per turn as a failsafe to prevent overly ridiculous combos– it’s warranted in this case given Orcust’s main game is getting names into the Graveyard, after all. Additionally, Galatea-I can’t be used as an Xyz material for an Xyz Summon, a very obvious drawback to prevent people from summoning Dingirsu, the Orcust of the Evening Star. Dingirsu might not be as game-changing as it was in the past, but it’s still a high-Rank body with decent stats with a coveted non-targeting removal effect, so it makes sense they still don’t want you to summon it too easily. Now we get to Galatea-I’s actual effects, both of them hard once per turn. By discarding a card, you’ll be able to search any World Legacy monster or Orcustrated Babel or recycle one of those cards from your Graveyard. As far as World Legacy monsters go, World Legacy – “World Wand” is the most popular choice for its extending effect literally being made for Orcust, though World Legacy – “World Crown” has a decent extending effect itself and has a solid negate against Extra Deck monsters. Those are just extra; if you don’t have it yet, the card you’ll really want to be grabbing is Babel to turn your Orcust Graveyard effects into Quick Effects. Not only does this help you gain a ton of advantage by letting you use extending effects during your opponent’s turn, it also turns Longirsu, the Orcust Orchestrator and the new Orcust boss monster into disruptions. On top of that, it pairs well with Galatea-I’s final effect, simply letting you banish another Orcust card from your Graveyard to Special Summon itself from the Graveyard. The combo applications are pretty obvious since it fuels your banishment with Orcust names and gets you another Link body, though it’ll also conveniently enable NT8000 – SIRIUS if you activate it immediately during your opponent’s turn, and Galatea-I will be a convenient body to destroy with Sirius to boot. There’s very little to complain about with Galatea-I; I can only complain that your combos with Orcust names that aren’t Girsu or Harp Horror are much weaker than those 2. But hey, Orcust fans can enjoy being (somewhat) relevant again, even without Mitsurugi!

As a side note, we all thought it was lights-out for Orcust in the TCG with the ban of King of the Feral Imps since Orcust Mitsurugi wasn’t just the best hybrid build– it was the only topping build. Surprisingly enough, it turns out people are now simply banking on opening Ame no Habakiri no Mitsurugi instead. Go figure!

+Excellent combo piece that enables powerful 1.5-card combos
+Constantly recycles itself for Link fodder or for NT8000 – SIRIUS while fueling banishment
-Can’t be used to summon Dingirsu, the Orcust of the Evening Star
-Discard can be annoying
