Hello Pojo Fans,
Divine Golden Shadow Dragon Dragluxion is the end of the week and is the facilitator for the FTK/OTK that was spoken of earlier.
Generic Rank 8 much like yesterday’s CoTD, Dragluxion is, like Tachyon Primal, a searcher. Able to search any Galaxy or Tachyon card, Dragluxion can get you to Seventh Tachyon or Tansmigration or Tachyon Primal as your best cards. Depending on your board situation, your choices will vary.
Detaching two monsters to Special Summon a Rank 8 Dragon Xyz monster with 3000ATK and this card becoming an Xyz Material seems pretty standard in a Tachyon archetype. In addition to that though, you can attach a Galaxy monster from the Extra Deck to the new Xyz Monster as well, giving it two materials. There are several options for you to summon, but for the FTK/OTK you will use Number 97: Draglubion, but not using Dragluxion to summon it. It goes something like this:
-Infinity Dragon + Galaxy-Eyes Spiral Dragon = Dragluxion, search Tachyon Primal
-Detach both materials for something like yesterday’s CoTD for an extra search, or a Rank 8 3000ATK negation Dragon Xyz
-Special Summon Tachyon Primal > Search Seventh Tachyon if you haven’t searched/drawn it already -Play Seventh Tachyon to search Catapult Turtle (revealing the proper Xyz)
-Special Summon Galaxy-Eyes Spiral Dragon from grave
-Xyz Summon Number 97: Draglubion with Tachyon Primal and Spiral Dragon
-Detach material to summon Numeron Dragon,
-Tribute a monster for Catapult Turtle and launch Numeron Dragon for game.
Sounds drawn-out, but relatively easy to do and even gearing the deck to be an FTK/OTK doesn’t stop it from being able to grind because of the strong ATK potential of so many of its monsters.
Netting you a search and not losing anything through its Xyz climbing, Dragluxion is an FTK/OTK enabler, but even more it is another way to get to a big Dragon that can hold down the field for you. From Hope Harbinger to either Hieratic Dragons, to something as simple as Thunder End Dragon, there’s so many different Xyz Monsters you can summon and there’s sure to be more in the future. Hopefully they will not touch this on the ban list in an effort to curb the FTK, as the only thing that limits this card’s potential is how many Rank 8 Dragon Xyz’s with 3000ATK you can fit in your Extra Deck.

We end the week off with a Dragluon/Draglubion retrain that isn’t a Number, Divine Golden Shadow Dragon Dragluxion.
Dragluxion is a Rank 8 LIGHT Dragon Xyz with 2500 ATK and 3000 DEF. Odd it isn’t 3000/3000 like the other two, but stats are still fine and it’s a LIGHT Dragon. Materials are 2 Level 8 monsters, making this an addition to the generic Rank 8 pool. If this card is Special Summoned from the Extra Deck, you can add a Galaxy or Tachyon card from your Deck to your hand, supporting both the Galaxy Photon Deck and the Galaxy Tachyon Deck alike. You can detach 2 materials from this card to Special Summon a Rank 8 Dragon Xyz with 3000 ATK by using this card as material, which is treated as an Xyz Summon, then you can attach a Galaxy monster from your Extra Deck to it. So you get your search and then swap this out for something like Number 38 for a Spell negate, Number 97 for the Number 100 OTK, or Number 107 for Tachyon Transmigration and max the value off a Galaxy Satellite Dragon you might attach to it and detach to make its ATK a whooping 10700. HOPT on both effects, but this is basically just a searcher you use to then swap into another Dragon Xyz instead of outright summoning said Xyz, which is pretty good since we apprerciate consistency for any Deck. Extra Deck is tight, but having a copy or two should be nice for Galaxy Photon Tachyon goodstuff for searching and then getting the Xyz you might have otherwise summoned normally. It’s also key to do the Catapult Turtle FTK.

Art: 5/5 A really nice looking Dragon, takes bits from Number 100 I assume.

We’ve been leading up to it all week, so we’re finally revealing the bombshell card of the Tachyon support (in Tachyon, at least), Divine Golden Shadow Dragon Dragluxion, a Rank 8 LIGHT Dragon Xyz monster. A step up from the original Number 46: Dragluon, Dragluxion will take any 2 level 8 monsters this time around, giving it applications in decks like Horus and certain Blue-Eyes builds, among other things. As more of a support type, Dragluxion inverts the classic big Dragon stats for a spread of 2500 attack and 3000 defense– still pretty good, but it won’t matter in the end when Number 107: Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon will be annihilating your opponent anyway.
Dragluxion has 2 hard once per turn effects, both very simple but very strong. The first triggers if it’s Special Summoned from the Extra Deck, which is meant to synergize with Number 97: Draglubion, but I feel like you’re much better off just going directly into Dragluxion. This effect will let you search any Galaxy or Tachyon card from your deck. Naturally, this is very useful in Galaxy-Eyes decks to fetch combo pieces like Galaxy Soldier or Galaxy Hundred, but this is Tachyon we’re talking about! Like I’ve mentioned throughout the week, there are 2 main things you can do with Dragluxion. For your bread and butter Tachyon combos, you’ll be searching Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Primal for another body that’ll also fetch Tachyon Transmigration, or if you already did that, you can go ahead and just search Tachyon Transmigration directly– after all, it’s still one of the most powerful disruptions in the game, full stop. In FTK builds, you’ll be grabbing Seventh Tachyon instead to search Cannon Turtle, which will be able to tribute a Number 100: Numeron Dragon summoned off of Draglubion to deal more than enough damage to finish off your opponent. This proved to be a nasty threat in the OCG, but the banlist quickly put a stop to it; it hasn’t caught on yet over here, but enjoy it while you can! Dragluxion’s other effect is what makes Tachyon Dragon the OTK machine and boss monster it was always meant to be; by detaching 2 Xyz materials, you’ll be able to Xyz Summon a Rank 8 Dragon Xyz monster with 3000 attack using Dragluxion as material, taking any leftover materials in the process, then you can attach a Galaxy monster from your Extra Deck to it as material as well. This effect conveniently detaches Galaxy-Eyes Afterglow Dragon, getting you another level 8 body, just in case you didn’t have enough Rank 8s. This is obviously meant to facilitate Tachyon Dragon, which will conveniently make Tachyon Transmigration usable from the hand and effectively hide from backrow removal. You could do some silly Cipher stuff by attaching one of the Galaxy-Eyes Extra Deck monsters, but you’re absolutely expected to attach Galaxy Satellite Dragon. When your turn rolls back around, you’ll be able to detach Satellite from Tachyon Dragon and use its effect to boost Tachyon Dragon’s attack to a staggering 10,700. It’ll cut your battle damage in half to compensate, but that’ll hardly matter if Tachyon Dragon is attacking twice, and if you have enough extenders you can even field other board-demolishing beasts like Neo Galaxy-Eyes Prime Photon Dragon, which will clear the board of those pesky Defense Position monsters trying to stop your OTK. The only bad thing about Dragluxion is that it’s a complete Hand Trap magnet; Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring doesn’t hurt that badly if you have extenders, but no amount of extenders will save you if Dragluxion gets negated by Effect Veiler or Infinite Impermanence, making it a sitting duck. I like Konami’s approach in empowering Tachyon Dragon by making Dragluxion into more of a support, and it does its job perfectly well. You only need 1, but as always, play 2 if you think Kashtira Unicorn is lurking around the corner.
+Amazing combo piece that’s extremely easy to make
+Versatile in enabling both OTKs, endboards, and FTKs
-Very weak to Infinite Impermanence and Effect Veiler
