Whenever you see the “Titan triggers” on anything, you know there’s a better than decent chance it’s going to be a good card, and Colossal Grave-Reaver really delivers. Graveyard synergies have become somewhat of a stereotyped effect for black and green in recent years, but they’re no less popular, and there are decks that might play him just for that effect. And that’s not even all the text on the card: I don’t think there’s ever been a passive reanimation effect of this kind before, and most decks constructed around this card should automatically win if it stays in play beyond the end of a turn.

Big, vicious, and able to reanimate large numbers of corpses in a pinch, Colossal Grave-Reaver certainly lives up to the billing, able to turn creatures in the bin into creatures on the board. While it’s certainly expensive, this can immediately reap valuye on entry if you get a creature in the top three, and this triggers off of things like dredge and even things like Entomb. A 7/6 with flying also isn’t half bad, and it’s a decent attacker that can push the clock forward while accruing more threats. It’s maybe a bit too fiddly to make a splash in Legacy, but the effect is powerful and has plenty of things it pairs well with, and I could definitely see the swooping being too much for some opponents.
