Society can’t collapse, it seems, without some lunatic trying to re-constitute the Roman Empire. It usually doesn’t end so well for them, but given how powerful Caesar’s abilities here are, perhaps you out there can buck the trend. All of the abilities you can choose from are strong, and their range makes him useful in a variety of situations, especially since you get two. It’s also quite easy to trigger, given that we’re far beyond the point where sacrificing a creature is seen as anything other than a condition to be built around. I have a feeling we’ll find it easy to accidentally launch massive comebacks or aggressive pull-ahead plays when Caesar’s involved – especially since his colors support everything he wants to do.

Build an army, use it to lash out. Caesar, Legion’s Emperor is pretty good at putting up pressure, and it should be mentioned that he doesn’t need to attack to get his effects. While he does have one generally useful ability (Phyrexian Arena), he can either push an army wider or just push for gam, and he’s even in a color triad that is good at providing sacrificial fodder. If you play him on turn four with one other available attacker, he can start pushing things forward. He demands a bit of set-up, but he’ll pay off if you supply the bodies.

Constructed: 2 ((just a bit too pricey)

Multiplayer: 3 (tends to play better with fewer opponents)
